Wild and wonderful Arkansas River trip - This experience took my breath away. The water was at a 5-year high so I was a little jittery about charging through big rapids but our guide Craig was super knowledgeable about the river and coached us paddlers through these sections with ease. AAE donated a gift card to a local land conservation nonprofit for their fundraiser, which is how I found out about it! I love a company that gives back.

Best white water raft experience!! - Before I went to American Adventure Expeditions, I had never known of the thrill of white water rafting. But only after a half-day rafting experience, my father and my brother and I were already talking about planning a new paddle raft experience with American Adventure! Our tour guide, Justin, was a composed, hilarious and relatable individual who navigated us through the Browns Canyon. At one moment, he would be announcing to our raft in an intense manner the useful rowing tips and survival knowledge we need when out on the rapids, and in another moment, he would narrate the scenery in an engaging and deeply factual way. Justin rallied all members of the raft to work together and tackle any challenges that could come our way! Overall, Justin at American Adventure Expeditions provides a funny, exhilarating and memorable paddle rafting experience that will captivate your attention and leave you planning your next visit!

Amazing guide training and safety! - Tour guides were awesome - loved Sam and Nate. They were fun but professionals and safe. We had a randomized state inspection at the start of our trip which they passed with flying colors and then unfortunately they put their safety skills to the test when we encountered two individuals on their personal raft (not a guided tour and not in proper equipment) that had flipped and one of the parties was injured and in cold water for too long. They handled the situation so well and took care of the couple while keeping us safe in the process. That really raised our respect level for this company and how serious they take safety. Their staff is well trained and they’re great humans. The trip was fun as well too :) 2nd week of June the Brown Canyon was running too high to safely raft so we did the lower part through Salida (half day trip).

Great Experience! - We had a wonderful time cruising Browns Canyon with our guide, Aaron! I highly recommend American Adventure Expeditions, we had a blast! Make sure to ask for Aaron, you WILL NOT be disappointed!!

Loved the Ark float! - There are so many raft outfitters to choose from; from large companies to small businesses. We ended up booking with American Adventure Rafting by accident confusing it with another “adventure” titled company. We have no regrets!! It was well run, and our guide Rye, was the best. I’ve been on a few raft tours and he is the classic guide persona but takes his job very seriously. He also knew the best lines to take while the Ark was running around 3k CFS- super high and fast. How do I know he took the best lines? Our raft was moving faster than any other!

Look no further - Debated between American Adventures and another company with good reviews (water shoes included in the price sealed the deal). Had an awesome trip with Rye. Super positive guide that kept us safe and had a great time doing it. Would definitely do it again.

Must do in Colorado!!! - Can’t say enough about our experience!!! Gabby was our guide. Who knew so much could be packed into such a small beautiful girl!!! Kept us in our raft, upright and laughing the whole trip! Nice clean and so well organized establishment. Highly recommend!!! Everyone should put them on your vacation list of must do in Colorado!!!!! Big thanks to Bob Williamson for setting up our trip and taking care of us!!!!!!

Thrills and spectacular views! - This ride was the perfect combination of lots of thrills and beautiful scenery everywhere you looked!! Our guide, Charlie, was so fun, energetic, and knowledgeable of the area. All the guides on our trip showed great teamwork to make sure everyone was safe and having the best time!! Will definitely come back!

BADASS RAFTING - We’ve been coming to Buena Vista, Co. for 9 summers. 6 of us went rafting with Gabby, our Raft Guide. She was the BEST Raft Guide we’ve ever had! We met the owner, Bob, and he really went out of his way to make sure we had a good time! In fact, it was fantastic!! We will be back, for sure!!!

Best thing to do in Buena Vista CO - We had the best time, it was a blast. The guides are fantastic. The rapids were class one through three which made for an excited time. The Brown canyon was beautiful and our guide was very informative and easy to understand.
