Essentials of Easter Island Tour was just that! - Most amazing tour with the absolute best tour guide! His name was Daniel ( or could have been Nicholas).

Fun, Informative and Invigorating. - Please see my review under the Tangeriki Sunrise Experience. We actually did 2 half day tours of the sites and a trek through Poole Peninsula and a half day horseback ride to the top of Maunga Terevaka. Both our guides were knowledgeable and fun. Both were eager to share their culture and history with us. Sebastian and “Wind” were our guides. Wind has a Rapa Nui name that we couldn’t remember. So he told us to call him “Wind.” Apparently his family name means “thief of leaves” which is a reference to the wind which blows the leaves off the trees. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our adventures with those two.

KavaKava Easter Island - We booked a hotel and private tour package. Everything was excellent. Sebastian was a wonderful guide. In addition to his encyclopedic knowledge of the history and archeology, he brings a real passion to sharing his homeland with his visitors. Our plans changed unexpectedly mid tour and he accommodated the truncation of our tour so that we felt that we had not missed any of the major sites. Alejandra in the office was also helpful. I highly recommend their services.

Make Kava Kava your first contact. - If I ever return to Rapa Nui (Easter Island), Kava Kava Tours will be my first contact. We came to the Island with very little notice during high season. Alejandra was so helpful in assisting my planning our visit, it would have been far more difficult without her expert advice. We did the amazing tours with Sebastian Paoa as our guide and cultural expert. We went to Isla de Pascua thinking of it as a land of mysterious statues but it is so much more. Easter Island is first of all a land of a unique people group (Rapa Nui) with a very unique culture and history. They are a very friendly and welcoming people with great pride in their heritage. The Island itself is strikingly beautiful, unlike anyplace I have traveled. Sebastian made the entire Island come alive with his knowledge of the people and their culture. Yes the Moai are amazing and mysterious but Rapa Nui is so much more. Plan on at least three days for a once in a lifetime experience. I hope to return. Thank you Kava Kava, Alejandra, and Sebastion.

Great tour company and guide - We had an amazing two days with Sol exploring the island. She was very knowledgeable and took great pride in sharing her heritage. The tour was just at the right pace. We liked the fact she drove us through the non touristy parts of the island so we could get a feel for it. Communication was good during booking especially when there was a problem with the website. Highly recommended.

INCREDIBLE private tour with our guide Sol - For our 1st day on Rapa Nui we booked the Te Moai private tour. Our guide, Sol, picked us up at our hotel and from the moment the tour started to the moment it ended we were not disappointed. Sol is incredibly knowledgeable and personable. For our tour she was wonderfully accommodating, went at our pace, and thoroughly explained the fascinating history of the island. Throughout the tour, Sol integrated the information she was sharing with us in a variety of ways. I was afraid I would forget so much of what I learned, but she engaged us with humor and thoughtful questions so we would be able to take our learned knowledge home with us. Thank you to Sol and Kava Kava Tours for creating such an amazing experience!

Wonderful and Informative Private Tours - We spent two wonderful days with Nicolas on the Te Moai and Tangata Manu private tours. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us insight into Rapa Nui oral history and traditions. Over the two days, we visited virtually all of the amazing archaeological sites and the tranquil lakes on the top of two of the volcanoes. It was a perfect introduction to the island and its people and culture.
