Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City (L)

At approximately 8:30 am, the guide will arrive to commence the city tour. The first stop is the War Remnants Museum, offering extensive insights into the Vietnam War. Next, visit the Jade Emperor Temple, one of the oldest Chinese temples in Ho Chi Minh City. Continue to Binh Tay Market in Chinatown, where a variety of local goods are available.

After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, proceed to the Reunification Palace, the former residence of President Thieu and his predecessors. Today, this building serves as a museum and a venue for official government receptions. Inside, explore the President’s room. Nearby, the Central Post Office and the Notre Dame Cathedral, constructed between 1877-1883, stand as significant city landmarks.

The Cathedral, in Neo-Romanesque style, is a central seat of the Catholic faith in modern Vietnam.

Around 5:00 pm, return to the hotel. Enjoy leisure time for dinner, sightseeing, and shopping. Return to the hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels – Cao Dai Temple (B, L)

Start the day with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. This extensive tunnel system, stretching over 200 km from Saigon to the Vietnamese-Cambodian border, is three levels deep. Today, the remaining tunnels are a major tourist attraction, offering visitors a unique experience and insight into underground life during the Vietnam War. The Cu Chi Tunnels are arguably Vietnam’s most renowned tourist attraction due to their significant role in the Vietnam War.

Following the Cu Chi Tunnels, travel to Tay Ninh Province, a southern region near the Vietnamese-Cambodian border. It is the center of the unique Cao Dai sect, whose patron saints include Sun Yat-Sen, Victor Hugo, and Nguyen Binh Khiem. This religion is a blend of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Christianity. In the evening, enjoy a one-hour tour around Ho Chi Minh City to explore some of the most fascinating and beautiful sites.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – My Tho – Ben Tre – Can Tho (B, L)

8:00 AM Pick up at your hotel in HCMC. Depart for My Tho. Take a boat ride along the river, observing the stilt houses and fruit plantations along the riverbank. Proceed to Tortoise Island and have lunch in the orchard. Enjoy a boat ride through Tan Thach natural canal in Ben Tre, cruising under the shade of water coconut trees. Savor seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music,” performed by locals. Then visit a family business that epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle. Enjoy a rowing boat ride along the creeks. Afterward, take a pleasant walk through the fruit plantation village.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City.
