Wonderful cruise - Would definitely recommend Bai Tu Bay cruise with Cong as our tour guide. He is amazing, so friendly and fabulous with the children. Bai Tu Bay is not as busy as Ha Long Bay which is wonderful because you don't have a million boats around you at night. Activities include kayak, swimming, tai chi, caves and squid fishing.

Great cruise in Halong Bay for my birthday - Had a fantastic time, Just wish we could have stayed for longer.Everything about our cruise through Halong Bay was amazing from the boat itself to all the activities, excellent meals, friendly staff and cocktails on the terrace. We went canoing, swimming in lovely warm water, cycled to a tiny village and tried the locally brewed wines and got up early for tau chi on the terrace. It was absolutely magical.

Average bay trip to an amazing destination - We were incredibly glad that we went on a trip to Halong Bay as the scenery was unlike any we’ve seen elsewhere. From our research online, this cruise route looked to be a bit less busy than others and was a reasonable price compared to some of the luxury offerings. We’re happy we went for this option in a lot of ways. The boat had everything we needed, from a sundeck on the top floor to a very comfortable bedroom with a mini balcony. The food also very good and we enjoyed every meal. I think it’s worth managing your expectations as this will still be a ‘touristy’ trip. It seemed like every boat did the same two activities. The kayaking, we really enjoyed (although it is a site set up just for tourism) but the cave was totally rammed with people, so much so that we queued to get to it, then around it and then back out again! It’s a nice enough cave but you can see many other much bigger and quieter ones in SE Asia. I imagine there are restrictions on the boats as we couldn’t see why every boat seemed to do each activity at exactly the same time! For this cruise, we would have liked to spend more time out in the bay just riding around and relaxing and enjoying being in the bay (although if we’d booked the 3d 2n version, perhaps we would have got more of this). A lot of time also seemed to be ‘used up’ on a long journey and tourist stop off on route there and in the harbour at the start and end of the trip. The journey back was much faster as a different route seems to be taken! It also would have been good to have an option for free or cheaper water on board as this and all the other drinks were very overpriced in comparison to standard Vietnamese bar prices. The staff were all very good and attentive but we were slightly frustrated that, despite being given a precise pick up time, we were left waiting for almost an hour sitting on the street with no apology for this. Since the company has our number they easily could have called us to let us know of a change in time. Overall, this is a good value cruise option for Halong Bay and we’re glad we didn’t choose a more expensive boat as the itineraries seemed similar. However to an extent you get what you pay for so it may be worth spending more for an option that gives you a shorter transfer time and a bit more time in the bay if possible.
