A pottery adventure - Phúc our guide is a recent college graduate who travelled quite a while to get to us. We called a grab and all three of us headed to Bat Trang pottery village. It was really an exchange as was expected from the tour description. We spoke in length about his life and experiences in Vietnam and he asked about ours. Phúc helped us learn more about the pottery village, understand the history and information at the pottery museum, and even helped us negotiate and buy our very own ornate clay jar from one of the vendors. After the purchase we came back to the old quarter and had a great meal. He recommended a restaurant that we would’ve never known existed here. He also pointed out the dong Xuan food alley with shrimp cake which we also would not have known. Phúc was an excellent guide and we would definitely sign up for another tour if we return.

Van Phuc Silk Village with Gracie - Gracie is a great host. She took us on the bus which would have been challenging without her local knowledge of where to get on and off. Gracie’s English is very good, she spent time telling us about the local history and taking us around the silk village. Highly recommend booking a trip with Gracie.

My visit to Bat Trang.. - I visited Vietnam for the first time and can tell you it'll not be the last! I had so much fun in my entire trip. On the second last day, I went for Bat Trang (Pottery Village) tour which I booked with Hanoi Free Private Tour Guide. My guide was Gracie who was very professional and knowledgeable throughout the tour. She did good job in explaining the rich culture, history and civilization of Vietnam. I did shoot a few videos for my YouTube channel in the village. Then after, we went to the Pottery Museum which is newly opened. Had learnt about the craft in the nearby antique house and also saw live making of artifacts and painting by visitors. Made back to hostel by evening through a local bus. Overall, it was a good experience and also a unique one because I had never done a kind of walking tour before.. Recommended 👍

Great doing yourself experience - The experience of doing your own pottery was amazing. Though the place is far from the old quarter just about 30 minutes grab, the experience was great and highly recommended if you love hand made things. And the guide May is good.

Thanks Van! - We booked at the last minute and the next day we had a guide to go to Duong Lam Village as we had requested. Van was super accommodating in helping us organize transportation, she knows her Vietnam well! His great friendliness and great flexibility helped us greatly appreciate him. The tour took place in English!

Don't do it. Guides not available and no refund - I did not get to go. The local operator canceled the event and did not issue a refund. Thank God it was only 8$
