Squeeze it in, you should - The one day tour provided the opportunity to view all the key places with a moment to breathe. The food was exceptional, and I agree that the tour was timed appropriately to flow and avoid over populated moments. Our longest wait was 5 or so minutes to load on to the kayaks. (You should expect that safety matters!) Phong was knowledgeable and Cuong ( the driver) made the trip pleasant. They say bring a small amount of moment, but the cocktails are great and you’ll want more.

A fun day tour from Hanoi Old Quarter to Halong bay! - Trip was well planned. There was a break each way for restroom from Old Quarter to Halong Bay and back. Lunch was sumptuous with a wide spread of local food and there was nice afternoon snack of sweet potato fritters with a glass of local wine. Tour guide Phong was thoughtful, gave clear instructions and funny!

A day long Halong Bay Tour. - Our trip to Halong Bay with my mom and wife was unforgettable. The stunning limestone karsts rising from the emerald waters are simply breathtaking. We enjoyed a relaxing boat cruise, taking in the beautiful views, exploring caves, and kayaking through hidden lagoons. The peacefulness of the bay made it a perfect escape from city life. The food was delicious, and the hospitality we experienced was top-notch. Our tour guide Jacky was very helpful and very open minded. He made our tour much more easier and convenient. It was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, making it a memorable experience for all of us. Halong Bay is a must-visit for anyone looking for natural beauty and tranquility.

Value for money, but... - I'm sure this isn’t the case for everyone, but… when docking the boat, our captain took the “create your own space” approach, resulting in a rather bumpy introduction to the neighboring boats. The boat crashed repeatedly into the ones on either side, and inside the cabin, it was raining fans and blinds as they fell from the ceiling. We didn’t think we were in any real danger, but “safe” wasn’t exactly the vibe. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese crew didn’t bat an eye. Bus ride: Pickup was relatively seamless, which is saying something, considering Hanoi traffic. The bus was comfy, had good AC, and was completely jam-packed—no free seats, so get ready to make some new friends! The rest stop was at a pearl-cultivating facility, where it was ridiculously crowded. The only way out was through the gift shop, of course—classic tourist trap. The ride back was pretty smooth, and we arrived more or less on schedule. Boat ride: Loads of food were included, and it was wonderful—bonus points for catering to dietary needs. However, drinks were all at an extra cost, even water. Hydration, apparently, isn’t included in the package. Attractions: Everything was jam-packed. Tons of tourists everywhere. Bring cash—you’ll even have to pay to shower after getting out of the ocean. And be prepared to queue: for boats, kayaks, hikes, restrooms… basically, if it exists, there’s a line for it. Guide: Our guide was lovely but seemed a bit overwhelmed with such a large group amid the crowds. Thankfully, we didn’t lose anyone. Overall, you’ll get value for your money, but don’t expect a chill day on the ocean. It's more of a “crowded adventure” kind of vibe!
