- Chua Tran Quoc - The first stop is Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda located on Golden Fish Island in West Lake. With a history of over 1500 years, Tran Quoc Pagoda plays a significant role in the development of Vietnam and Hanoi. This is why it attracts thousands of visitors from around the world each year.
- Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum - The next stop is the Ho Chi Minh complex, where you can see the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh and explore the garden to view the two houses where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is one of Vietnam’s most important structures. Visiting this site will deepen your understanding of Vietnamese history and provide a meaningful experience during your vacation. It is often the first destination for first-time visitors to Hanoi due to its cultural and historical significance.
- One Pillar Pagoda - Next, visit the One Pillar Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy. This unique pagoda is one of the most charming architectural complexes in Hanoi, drawing many domestic and international tourists.
- Vietnam Museum of Ethnology - The tour continues to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, one of the largest and most fascinating museums in Hanoi and Vietnam. The museum features both indoor and outdoor sections, with informative indoor exhibits and engaging outdoor displays and activities. The museum showcases traditional architecture from various ethnic minorities, particularly those from the Northern and Central highlands. If the museum is closed on Mondays, we will visit the Vietnamese Women’s Museum instead. Lunch will be at a local restaurant, offering unforgettable traditional dishes.
- Temple of Literature & National University - After lunch, we will visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, established in the 11th century. This cultural and historical site is where many students come to pray for success in their exams and studies. The Temple of Literature is a must-visit on any Hanoi travel tour, offering a glimpse into Vietnam’s educational history and development.
- Hoa Lo Prison - Finally, we will visit Hoa Lo Prison, a former prison in Hanoi also known as the Central House or ironically the Hanoi Hilton. Built during the French colonial period, it was partially destroyed in 1990 and now serves as a museum. At 4:00 pm, the Hanoi City tour concludes, and the bus will return you to your hotel in the Old Quarter.
