An excellent evening with top marks for gluten-free preparation - Albert took 3 of us on a fabulous tour of several of her favorite eating places. I was initially nervous, as I have coeliac disease and can't tolerate gluten. Albert was very well prepared. Although she hadn't cone across gluten-intolerance before, she researched the issue, found suitable restaurants, checked my needs and spoke to restaurants in advance. On top of this she was amusing, well-informed, warm-hearted, open to listening and new ideas, well-organised and a clear communicator. We learned a lot about food, Hanoi, Albert's life and local customs and laughed a lot.

Our guide, Albert, was exceptional - 5-Star Review: We had an amazing experience with our food tour guide! She was young, lively, and incredibly open-hearted, making the whole evening so much fun. The variety of food we tried was both delicious and unique—each stop felt carefully chosen. What impressed us most was her dedication; one of our group members was gluten-free, and even though she hadn’t encountered that before, she did thorough research to ensure they could enjoy the experience just as much as the rest of us. Her enthusiasm and warmth made this tour unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Great option for a private tour - I did two tours with Hanoi Free Walking Tours. Initially there was a bit of confusion as to who was leading what tour and there was some back and forth, but it was cleared up. But the confirmation email I received wasn't communicated clearly to the two guides. Also, you should know these are individual, private tours. So if you book alone, it will just be you and the guide. I didn't quite understand that when I booked. I initially thought it was a group tour, but it was fine. Also, you have to pay for the guide's entry fees to any of the sites you go. For the Ho Chi Minh Complex and Temple of Literature tour, Serene was really great!! She was extremely friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. I asked lots of questions and she always had an answer. She took me around both sites and explained everything. She always had a smile on her face and she knew her history. She was curious, kind, and friendly. She was even nice enough to give me a ride back to my hotel. The Temple of Literature is absolutely stunning. It's a bit farther away than the other sites and I originally wasn't going to go, but I'm so glad I did. Definitely a highlight not to be missed. I also did the French and Old Quarter walking tour with Camille. Camille was also very knowledgeable and friendly. I would have liked a bit more flexibility to explore some sites I had on my list since this was a 1-on-1 tour, but I understand why there were certain sites we had to hit. We also did make a few extra stops along the way to see things that interested us. We had delicious egg coffee and Camille gave me some great food recommendations!

Wonderful tour with Fiore from HanoiKids - We loved our tour with Fiore through the streets of Old town in Hanoi. She was such a sweet young girl who took us to an authentic old house a lovely walk around the lake, a couple of temples and finished off at a secret hidden away coffee shop. We learnt so much from Fiore about so many interesting topics, we learnt so many things about a typical Vietnam family and even taught her some Aussie slang which she found very funny. Thank you so much Fiore and we wish you all the very best for you and your family.

Hanoi food tour - Arthur was great! I got to try really interesting food. I never would’ve tried otherwise. And he is a lot of fun to talk with. So the food was great, but the highlight was getting to talk to and hear about the life of a 20 year-old college student in Hanoi.

Informative and interesting tours! - We did the half day private walking tour 2 times. On the first tour we went to Hoa Lo Prison and walked around the French Quarter. Our guide Camille was very kind and learned us a little about the history of the prison and the area we walked through. She also brought us to a small restaurant to try some typical Vietnamese fried snacks, it was delicious! The second tour was led by Chris. Since it was my husband’s birthday I asked him an unusual question, but he was so kind to help me out. He helped me surprise my husband with a birthday cake. Chris bought the most delicious chocolate cake and even brought us to a cute hidden cafe in the old Quarter to enjoy the cake. All in all two super interesting tours with two very kind tour guides!

Visit of the old city with Chi - We had a wonderful experience with Chi who showed us a few temples around the city explaining us the stories behind them and the legends of the Vietnamese tradition. The walk around the city was an enlightening experience which allowed us to discover some narrow streets and an old traditional house. Chi was really friendly and told us a lot about Hanoi and Vietnam in general, allowing us to try new food and discover some "hidden" restaurants. At the end we would absolutely recommend both the tour and also Chi as a guide.

An afternoon in Hanoi old quarter to experience important history - Our guide Camille was a perfect guide, so friendly and talented, and she took us to places in Hanoi old quarter that we would never have found by ourselves. We learned about Vietnamese ancient history and also the buddhist religion by visiting a beautiful temple. She also joined us to the famous Street train which was a thrilled experIence.
