Join the unique half-day ‘Rice is Life’ activity for an immersive, hands-on experience where you will engage in 14 steps of the rice cycle at the Living Land community farm.
The Living Land Farm, a community enterprise near Luang Prabang, offers educational programs and professional organic farming adjacent to village rice paddies. Small groups can participate in this interactive rice farming experience, which supports local traditions and crafts. Additionally, you will learn about bamboo weaving, tool and trap making, gardening, and blacksmithing.
After enjoying a special rice snack at the farm, take a scenic drive along the Mekong River to have lunch at the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall. There will be ample time to swim, explore, and photograph the waterfalls, as well as stroll through the lush surrounding jungle. On the return trip, your guide will take you to a locally made Hmong Culture Museum for an insightful introduction to the culture and life of one of Laos’ main ethnic groups.
The tour concludes in the late afternoon in Luang Prabang City.
Note: The entire family can join in (children over 10 years can participate actively), and there are many excellent photo opportunities, making it a perfect family experience.
