Old Quarter - 07:15 AM – 7:45 AM: Our guide and driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Hanoi’s Old Quarter and head to Ninh Binh. The drive takes about 2 hours, including a short break along the way.
Hoa Lu Ancient Capital - Explore Hoa Lư, the ancient capital of Vietnam from 968 to 1010. This visit offers a chance to delve into Vietnamese history during the Dinh, Le, and Ly Dynasties. Hoa Lu is a major attraction in Ninh Binh and a significant National Heritage Complex. It is also one of the four core regions of the UNESCO-recognized Trang An World Heritage Complex. The historical site spans 13.87 square kilometers. Visitors can immerse themselves in the history of Vietnam’s first capital, which is linked to the victories of the Dinh, Pre-Le, and early Ly dynasties.
Tam Coc - Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant featuring various local dishes. Afterward, take a bamboo boat ride through Tam Coc. The scenic beauty of paddy fields, rivers, clouds, sky, and a stunning cave system will leave you in awe. This area is often referred to as “Ha Long Bay on land.” Continue the tour with a bike ride around the village to experience local life. You’ll pass through lush fields and dramatic karsts, typically stopping at the three caves that give Tam Coc its name: Ca, Hai, and Ba. The scenery is especially breathtaking during the rice harvest season when the fields turn golden.
Mua Caves - The final stop is Mua Cave, often compared to the “Great Wall of China.” Climb 500 steps to reach the top and enjoy a panoramic view of Ninh Binh and Tam Coc. The ascent also features several worship sites, offering a glimpse into Vietnam’s Buddhist heritage. Afterward, you’ll be taken to a bungalow for check-in, followed by dinner at the bungalow’s restaurant. Enjoy some free time to relax and explore the local village. Overnight stay in a bungalow in Ninh Binh.
Ninh Binh to Halong Bay Day Cruise - Hanoi (End Tour) (B/L)
Tam Coc - 6:45 - 7:00 AM: After breakfast, check out of your bungalow. A shared limousine bus will pick you up and transfer you to Halong Bay for a day cruise. The drive takes about 4 to 4.5 hours, and there will be no guide during the transfer.
Halong Bay - Arrive at Tuan Chau Marina in Halong Bay between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM. Wait in the cruise lounge for your group and guide from Hanoi. Once the guide arrives, you’ll board the cruise and receive a safety briefing. The 6-hour journey will take you through a route known for its striking, uninhabited islets and outcrops, which locals have named based on their shapes. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch on board. The cruise also offers a Sunset Party as you head back to Tuan Chau harbor. There’s plenty of time for sunbathing on the upper deck with music, making it a fun group experience amid iconic natural scenery. Arrive back at Tuan Chau Harbor.
Sung Sot Cave - Visit Sung Sot Cave to marvel at its stalactites, stalagmites, and karst formations. Located on Bo Hon Island in the UNESCO World Heritage area, Sung Sot Cave is one of the largest and most impressive caves, covering around 10,000 square meters with a length of over 200 meters. The cave was first explored by French tourists who were so amazed by its beauty that they named it “Grotte des surprises” or “the cave of surprise.” Since then, it has been known as Surprising Cave or Amazing Cave.
Hang Luon Cave - Stop at Luon Cave for kayaking or a bamboo boat ride. Luon Cave is a tunnel-like cave that is 100 meters long, 4 meters wide, and 3 meters high. Although not large, it is unique and mysterious. Located at the foot of a mountain, visitors must pass under the mountain by boat to reach the other side, hence the name “Luon Cave.”
Ti Top Island - Ti Top Island is known for its beautiful scenery and pleasant weather, making it a must-visit destination in Halong Bay. The island is especially popular among nature lovers and offers an ideal location for tourists exploring Halong Bay.
