Exactly as advertised - Cabin bus exactly as advertised. Blankets smelled fine. They picked us up at the hotel by motorbike and took us to the bus. There were bathroom breaks every 2 hours which made the trip take a little longer.

Han is the best! - Needed a bus last second after I missed my other. Han from Jan Travel was the best! Responded right away and was super helpful and got me sorted in minutes. The bus itself was pretty good, was able to get a few hours sleep too

Got us door to door with no hiccups. - Clean cabins, and friendly and responsive agency. One tip: the cabins all the way to the back are considerably smaller than the rest, so try to avoid those.

Smooth - I had a pleasant experience booking with this company. I made same day reservations and the tour guide responded to me a couple hours after. They picked me up from my location in old quarter. Took me to the bus. Then the bus from Hanoi to Ha Giang and dropped me off at my desired location. I just showed them the address i wanted to go to on the google maps. Very smooth process.

A sea of vomit and sweat - After spending a long time attempting to contact the company delivering the tour to no avail to confirm my pick up at my hotel, as advertised, I was sent a message telling me to travel across the city for the bus leaving in 25 mins time. We arrived as sweaty messes to an office where I was received with a blank stare and a vacant shrug of the shoulders. I stood amongst other equally sweaty tourists where I took solace in the fact that noone else knew what was happening. Eventually a full minibus pulled up and a man gestured for us to enter. What ensued can almost be described as the world's worst game of human Tetris. A plethora of human arms and legs squashed and squeezed into imaginable positions and the sudden intimacy with the other sweaty strangers was somewhat unwelcome. Alas the mini bus trundled off with the extra 8 people in it, surely breaking some world record in the process. After half an hour we were unloaded at a petrol station somewhere on the out skirts of the city with no communication other than a gesture to wait. The hour that followed was despite very hot and uncomfortable was pleasently shared with new found friends bonding over uncertainty. Eventually a sleeper bus showed up and we were physically pushed onto the bus by a slightly disgruntled individual and a bus leapt forward at a rate which had it not been terrifying would have been impressive. The following 7 and a half hours was a blur of vomit and sweat. Broken air conditioning didn't improve the situation and the over crowding had people lying in aisles as the vomit trickled down their backs. I wish I was exaggerating but the misery was further compounded by the lack of a single toilet break for the whole trip. An exclamation at the disgruntled employee to allow people who were violently being sick to take some fresh air was met with a wave of the hand and a clear instruction we were not stopping. Finally we arrived at our destination (remarkably alive considering the amount of time on the wrong side of the road) in complete darkness and despite being advertised a drop off at our hotel we were at a bus station 2 Kms from town. The only saving grace was we could finally empty our exploding bladders before the kidney infections firmly took hold..... I've travelled a lot and can always take solace in the fact that I've done worse before, but sadly this has now become the new extremely low bar for me to judge further terrible journeys by. 3/10 would recommend to a bad friend.
