We feel we have learned more about Croatia's culture and history through his personal experiences, stories and tours. - We took 6 day tours with Ante: Mostar, Ston, Split, Korcula, Trogir and Kotor. We found Ante to be personable and passionate about Croatia, its culture and history. All of the wine and food experiences were enriching and gave us a glimpse into traditional Croatian cuisine. We planned 6 tours over the course of a month in consultation with Ante to provide a wide variety of experiences. He was punctual, polite, knowledgeable, flexible and fun. Ante's specialty is finding great lookouts for photo ops and views!

A wonderful experience to Croatia & Bosnia with Ante Private Tours Travel - Words are not enough to describe the professional way which we had from our experience with Ante Rupcic during our recent trip to Croatia and Bosnia. He immediately made us feel welcomed from the airport when he collected us. We were four couples and we fitted so comfortably in his airconditioned and spacious Mercedes van everywhere we went! He took us to so many beautiful viewpoints and he was always ready to meet our requests every place we went to. Our compliments also goes to Sanka who really took care of us and prepared us such good food when we went to Bosnia! I strongly recommend Ante's services for so many reasons namely his excellent approach with tourists, friendliness and great knowledge! Thumbs up Ante!! You're the best!!!

Left my heart in Croatia - Visited Croatia for the first time, found Ante (the owner) thru internet. Super friendly service, very knowledgeable, offers great trips, great guides and great driver (Milo is the name). And not to forget we had the BEST farm to table experince at Ante's house. Big thanks to mama, Senka Rupcic whose cooking is out of this world! All the restaurants that are recommended by Ante never failed us 👍👍👍 Would definitely go back to Croatia and looking forward to explore more places with Ante's team.

A wonderful experience! Highly recommend. - Ante went out of his way to offer my friends and I a truly unforgettable experience in Croatia. He picked us up early in Dubrovnik's Old Town in the morning and right on time. From there, we embarked on the ultimate road trip and tour of Croatia's Dalmatian coastline throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the ride- we had mentioned to Ante we really wanted to see Mostar and Međugorje (which was not a part of the planned itinerary) but did not have time since our stay was so short. With that said- Ante totally changed his route and went out of his way to extend the tour throughout both regions for us!! Ante was super informative and knowledgeable of his home land. He took pride in explaining the history of Croatia (border conflicts and war, the tourist economy throughout the years, government, politics, the agricultural sectors and geography- you name it) The wealth of information and passion Ante had was fascinating. Aside from the tour of the land- the FOOD was unbelievable and a story in itself. Midway into our excursion – and the start of our dining experience- Ante took us to a small family owned oyster farm right on the coastline- Here is where we sampled salty fresh and briny oysters that were picked straight from the Adriatic and onto our table! (If you love oysters, you will seriously appreciate this experience)! From there, Ante took us to his family farm where he and his mother had effortlessly arranged what they called an “appetizer” course inside what was Ante’s version of his “Man Cave”. This included the freshest charcuterie, homemade warm breads and danishes, homemade spreads and jams, a sampling of his very own bottled wines…It goes on! Fueled up for the last stretch of the tour, we set off again into Mostar , where we had time to burn off some calories and do a little shopping in Old Town at its large souvenir bazaar. Making it back to his farm just in time for dinner- we again were greeted by Ante’s mother who once more had prepared for us a feast fit for a King (…or if you’re into GoT- hungry lords and ladies vie for the throne). The generosity and kindness was memorable and will be cherished. We felt like a part of the family. During a delicious veal stew dinner (that slow cooked in a wood burning stone hearth oven and melted off the bone) Ante shared precious stories of his family history and their farm and how it became what it is today. The wine and grappa continued to flow. We had to purchase some of the wine and pepper spread to take home with us- it was just that good. Overall an unforgettable day. When Ante dropped us off at the end of our trip- I can honestly say we all missed him! So, if you ever are looking for an all-around exciting day of Croatian history, a unique dining experience and breathtaking views of Croatia - reach out to Ante and his family. They will treat you like gold!

Best meal of our lives, wonderful farm-to-table experience. - A memorable farm-to-table eating experience with Ante Rupcic, of Private Tours Travel Agency. My wife and I like to travel a lot; and from our travels, one of the things we enjoy the most is the eating. Our motto is: "From life, traveling, and from traveling, eating". We even keep track of the greatest meals in our lifetimes and always remember "our top four". After our banquet (eating feast) at Ante Rupcic's place (actually, his mother's home, where he grew up as a child), we now have to speak of our best meal ever and then about "the next four". It all started the moment we met Ante and his mother Senka at the entrance of their farm. His enthusiasm for the experience they were about to offer us, was contagious and actually made us hungrier. He told us how everything we were going to eat: the prosciuto, the bread, the jams, the cheese, the olives, the hot peppers, the red wine, the white wine, the salad, the potatos, the carrots, the veal, the spices, the pre-dinner appetizer drinks, the after-dinner liquers, the cheesecake for dessert; absolutely everything, was grown and elaborated at the farm, and home-cooked by his mother Senka for our greatest delight ever. It would be a true farm-to-table eating extravaganza. He described how the veal that was going to be our main course was prepared, simmering at a very low heat in the special stone and bricks oven for two and a half hours, developing the taste of the sauce and the meat. He assured us confidently that he and his mother were about to provide us an unforgettable culinary and eating experience. As Ante spoke, Senka would smile approvingly, with the confidence of someone who has seen many other guests' reactions to her cooking and their banquets and could confidently foresee what ours would be. Ante and his mother were right! The meal we had at their home was our best ever. After eating, Ante took us on a tour of the farm where Ante showed us, amongst many other interesting things, the homes of several of his ancestors and several areas where he used to play as a child, as well as a very nice river with small but powerful water falls just accross the street. We highly recommend to anyone who enjoys good festive eating to go for this one. You are going to thank us for it!! We thank Marko, from Active Tours, and his friend Zack, who took us to Ante's farm as part of a 10-day tour we were taking with them. Madeline & Donato, from Puerto Rico, the Pearl of the Caribbean Sea.

Incredible experience! - What a perfect day! This excursion with Ante was nothing like I have ever experienced; it was diverse, educational, fun, and refreshing. I traveled to Dubrovnik with my husband and another couple. The 4 of us were staying in an apartment in the heart of the old city and Ante was able to pick us up in the morning from the front gate (Pile Gate). We were running about 10 minutes late and were able to text Ante to let him know, he was quick to answer and very accommodating. Our original plan was to stop at an oyster farm on our way to Ante home in a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where we would enjoy a home cooked meal, see the mini waterfalls and come back. However, on our way to our first stop (the oyster farm) we told Ante that we were planning on seeing Mostar another day and he offered to take us there that same day! This was so great because we were able to fit more into our itinerary while in Dubrovnik. The oyster farm was about 1hr from Dubrovnik, it was small dock with the most flavorful and fresh oysters! We stayed at the oyster farm for about 30 minutes after which we continued to Antes home. We had to pass 3 borders (Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina into Croatia and again Croatia into Bosnia and Herzegovina) this is the way the country geography is set up. Ante spoke about the history of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was very knowledgeable! We arrived at his beautiful home and were greeted by his lovely mom who prepared “appetizers” for us. The reason I included quotation marks is because this was a HUGE meal and not really an appetizer. I thought this would be our only meal! We ate fresh prosciutto and salami, freshly baked bread (from their fire place), zeppoli like bread, 3 different cheeses, different flavored jams, a bell pepper spread that was to die for (we purchased some to bring home), tomatoes and the most delightful cherry cake that I still have dreams about! We drank homemade wine and grappa (tasted different flavors, the cherry and honey were my favorite). Needless to say, our bellies were full! We then went on to Mostar. Again, Ante told us all about the history and his experience with the war. On the way to Mostar we drove to Medjugorje. Ante even stopped for us to get some souvenirs. Once in Mostar we had some time to see the famous bridge take pictures and shop a little. It was the perfect amount of time as it was very busy and chaotic there. Once again, we were on the road back to Antes home. This time we had our lunch which included veal with potatoes and salad and more wine and grappa. We finished our lunch with cake, cheesecake and Bosnian coffee. BEST MEAL EVER!!! On our way home we stopped at his family home, visited their 2 donkeys and saw the mini waterfalls. Honestly this day was perfect! We all had such a great time and were so happy that we were able to meet Ante! Thank you Ante for this wonderful experience I know we will be talking about this for year to come!

Truly authentic experience - Sanka, who owns the property and does the cooking, was absolutely a lovely woman: sweet kind generous. And the food? OMG. It was so so good! And the cherry grappa was phenomenal. Being on Sanka's property and spending time in the family environment felt so personal and truly authentic. If you are looking for something unique and authentic this is a really great choice. We took this trip from Dubrovnik with Vibor; if i could change one thing, it would be that choice. I would recommend that, if you were transitioning from Dubrovnik to Split, you take this tour starting in Dubrovnik and ending in Split. In this way, you could use it as a transition tour because the experience and the food were absolutely worth the drive ....once. They do offer that option and, if I could go back in time, that is what I would do. The trip back was extremely long and made for really long day.
