Edge of the World - A more accessible route for self drive visitors - This is commonly a half day trip that starts in the afternoon to see the sunset. There are three routes to access the park of the Edge of the World. Of the three, the middle route is the most accessible route for self drive. Unlike the southern route, which is open only Thursday to Saturday (to be verified) and the northern route which, although open daily, is rough, the middle route is relatively flat and open every day. A normal SUV is sufficient to clear the ground. But this route is not shown in Google Map yet. Here is the tip to find the route. In Google Map, look for Edge of the ShortCut. This is the start of the route from the main highway. There is a road signboard erected at this juncture. Then look for Edge of the World New Road on Google Map which is just a few minutes drive down the paved road. This is the start of the new route and the road becomes unpaved. Then there is no more trace on Google Map from this point onward. You have to follow the track all the way to the destination, about 50 min. drive. This is a relatively straight route. The rule of thumb is to follow the sun or westward on the compass. Self drive groups are advised to head back as soon as the sun sets so that the track is still visible for a good part of route and before the tour operators hit the road in order to avoid driving in mist caused by traffic ahead of you.

Hilton Universal City - Business or Pleasure - You can't go wrong! - I keep going back to the Hilton Universal City because they make me feel special and treat me better than family! Kevin Finister and his staff are amazing. I combined business and family this trip as we celebrated my daughter's marriage to an amazing man. They had a beautiful room and they had a blast! Kevin got me a great room where I can work but still get a great night's sleep on their amazing bed and soft, comfortable duvets. Shower is hot and strong and uber eats can deliver to the room so no wasted time waiting in the lobby. This is a lovely hotel and the long-term staff know how to take care of both business and tourist/vacation guests. Got coffee from Javier and hope he gets a raise. He always remembers me and again and trip after trip. Robert Weitz has built a team with Kevin that is first rate. This is a safe hotel and ubers are just a minute or 2 away. I can't recommend this hotel and team highly enough. Organizations should strongly consider having their conferences at this hotel. Thank you Kevin and Robert!

Satisfied - Pension is one of the best I have visited in Madagascar: a warm welcome, spacious and comfortable rooms, top bedding, impeccable cleanliness and excellent Breakfast. On top of that the services are very fast and the employees are all friendly.

Relaxing vacation - This is actually to Jan Hundreiser. Don't know any other way to send a message just to you. Today I wrote 2 other reviews. All is good. Love HR Riv Maya. I forgot to mention this, but since I just read of the same problem in other reviews - I thought I had better mention this. We had 2 Pres.Suites. In ours (Bldg 5, 2nd floor) - the larger Master Bedroom really really smelled musty and moldy. After you were in it awhile it was not as noticeable. I kept requesting the cleaning person to keep filling up the scent thing in the bathroom, and she did (thank you) The 2nd bedroom did not seem to have the same issue. It was very noticeable, as you first entered the large doors into the living room - but more so once you entered the master bedroom. First day, I mentioned it to front desk, and they sent someone to spray all around the floor with some kind of 'scent' to mask it. But that didn't last. I was a little worried as we slept there nightly, hoping it didn't affect our lungs somehow. Also - something new - the only way to keep the A/C running in the Master Bedroom and Living Room areas, was to keep those large 2 doors from the foyer into the Living Room closed. If someone left them open by mistake, A/C went off - and it got hot. I don't remember that in years past, so perhaps that is something new. We usually like to leave one door to the L.R. open so that guests (family) staying in the 2nd bedroom didn't feel 'shut out.' Anyway - wish there was a way to just send this to Jan Hundreiser, because I didn't want to post it on T.A. I'm not really complaining, but offering you some information so that perhaps you can look into what is causing the musty/moldy odor problem, since I saw the same 'issue' on other posts. Having your room for a week, smelling musty or moldy is not fun. Thanks for your help.
