• Elephant Sanctuary Hartbeespoort - It will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive at the location. On arrival you will have a 15 minute rest stop. The elephant walk takes approximately 2 hours. You will have the once-in-a-lifetime experience to walk alongside elephants in their natural environment. You will be able to appreciate how magnificent and huge these creatures are. The elephant carers will also share amazing information on their personalities, what they eat, how big they grow, their life expectancy and more. The walk is not too long or arduous so if you can walk you will be fine. Children must be accompanied by an adult. After the elephant walk you will have 15 minutes to browse the curio shop and get refreshments. Then we will return to the original pick up location which will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

This tour is designed for senior citizens and families with young children and infants, as the walking paths are short and mostly flat. It offers a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk alongside elephants and observe these gentle giants up close. These elephants have been raised around humans, allowing them to comfortably share their space. Their relationship with humans is based on routine and food, and they communicate their comfort level with interaction through body language, which is interpreted by the guides. This ensures a relaxed and natural interaction while the elephants are feeding.
