Memories worthy of 1001 nights - An exceptional family experience of which we keep a wonderful memory. Despite the heavy rain on arrival , our guides safely drove us to the camp for a fairy night. We laughed a lot during the incongruous stop to snowboard on the dunes. The musical evening after a hearty dinner was very pleasant. The next morning, we chose to go home as camel teenagers while other guests preferred to go home in 4x4. Note that it was cool during our stay in the middle of August after a big storm and we slept very well. But we were ready to have a night a little agitated by the heat, having voluntarily chosen a tent not equipped with air conditioning, heresy it seems to us today if we choose to sleep in the deserts. We have been careful to keep our shower short, that it luxury to be able to shower in the middle of the desert in a country that suffers from a water crisis unparalleled for 5 years.

Camel’s house passage forced in the desert of Merzouga - Mohamed and his family have been in our care Superb organization of the sand bath and bivouac in the desert We highly recommend his address if you want to sleep on site or organize an activity, it is a good Trip Tip and as a bonus we had a great photographer for the goodbye photo

Have a valuable experience! - This camping experience in the desert became a lifelong memory of mine. The Berber staff at the campsite are attentive, and you can enjoy their performance after dinner. I would love for others to experience the big red sunset and starry sky that can only be seen in the desert, and the quiet white morning sun.

Great value first desert experience, but lacks authenticity - Great first- time experience of the desert, the local guides did their best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, the camel ride was unique and took a decent amount of time (circa 1.5 hours with the sandboarding stop‐ no obligation to participate but fun to watch anyway), the camp was comfortable, the food plentiful, the drumming circle under the moon and stars, memorable and all together it was exceptionally good value. However, having done the same activity in Erg Chebbi 18 years ago, for me this experience lacked authenticity and magic due to the fact that we did not go near, let alone into, the big dunes, and on both the camel walk and at the camp you are rarely out of sight of other man-made structures, buildings, vehicles, planted wind breaks etc. The camp is quite a way from the big dunes, which are magnificent to look at from a distance but need to be experienced up close to truly feel like you're in the desert. So if the magical silence and isolation of the desert at night under the stars is what you're after, you won't find it here. Choose a company whose camp is in amongst the actual big dunes. You'll have to ask around carefully in advance to ascertain which ones are- I presumed this one was, but I was wrong.

Desert was beautiful - It was a really nice trip and totally worth it’s money. The hosts were super nice and the scenery was stunning. If having to go to the desert by camel is an ethnical question, but the camels we rode looked fine. But you can also go there by “motorbike”/ quat, which would be way more animal friendly.
