Fantastic day with amazing guides! - Yuji & Ryuji were absolutely amazing guides!! They were both extremely knowledgeable and knew the best locations on Miyajima to visit. They were very accommodating, took excellent pictures and shared with me the best local spots for food. Very happy I booked this tour and I wouldn't hesitate to do another tour with either of them!

Much more to see than the Torii Gate! - We came at the right time, with fall colors and (I think) slightly smaller crowds. This tour definitely exceeded my expectations. Our tour guide was Kaz from Magical Trip. He did an excellent job, definitely giving us more than our money’s worth, taking us to places on the island that we most certainly would not have seen without him. This is much more to this tour than the beautiful Torii Gate. Kaz provided excellent historical and cultural context all along the way, and he shared some of his life story which was very interesting. The lunch was excellent and was at a relaxing location that was a bit off the beaten path. This is billed as a half day tour but it was closer to 6 hours including time on the boat. Highly recommend!

Morning in Miyajima - We had an amazing day with our excellent guide Hika. He was so friendly and kind and very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Miyajima. Without his expertise we would have missed out on so much. Highly recommend this magical trip.

Excellent Morning with Hika - Hika was a great guide - very friendly and informative. My side-trip to Hiroshima was primarily to see the A-bomb Dome and museum, but I am very glad I did the Miyajima tour. The island is a major tourist attraction, but it doesn’t feel overly touristy, like many other similar attractions. Though there were a ton of student groups when I went (huge amounts for the size of the area and attractions), they seemed to not go past the Itsukushina shrine and everything beyond that was very peaceful and tranquil. I ended up being the only person on the tour and Hika was happy to shorten it a bit at my request to give me more time in the city in the afternoon to see the dome and museum. We spent about 4 hours on the island, plus the short ferry ride each way, which is honestly plenty of time. The full tour would be about 8km of walking, so be prepared for that. There are also a fair amount of stairs overall, but nothing too daunting at one time. FYI - the JR station where you meet is Miyajimaguchi (Sanyo Line) and it’s a 25-30 minute ride from central Hiroshima. I didn’t find that to be super clearly identified in the instructions and Japanese public transport can be a bit challenging for a Westerner.

A perfect day in Miyajima - Kiki was a great tour guide! Someone told me to see Miyajima, but I wasn’t sure what exactly to see there, and it was great to put myself in the hands of Magical Trip! We saw the big torii and shrine that everyone else sees, and then a museum, a temple, a delicious lunch, the deer, the forest, another shrine, and had a matcha with a view. We went back to the torii at low tide and walked out on the mud. A perfect day!

Day trip to Miyajima - Our day trip to Miyajima was incredible and will be a lifelong memory. Our guide, Eri, was very knowledgeable of the island and its history. She was well prepared with lots of good information. Having a guide fluent in Japanese and English was critical to getting the most out of the experience. Had we not gone with a guide, we would not have gotten as much out of the day trip. Eri did a great job explaining the significance of the Shinto and Buddhist temple and shrine sites. She brought a lot of value to our experience, and we couldn’t have imagined doing it without a guide. We have done a few guided tours on this trip and Eri was the best tour guide, by far. Worth it!

Good tour, good amount of time. - Had a good tour. Plently of explanations on the area, and went to a museum I wouldn't have even noticed if I had gone on my own. Both of the main locations visited were definitely worth the visit. Guide (Shun) was friendly and helpful, happy to answer questions. Even pointed me to a train that took me directly to my next destination at the end of the tour. Lunch provided had multiple options. I chose the tempura, even though I don't usually like shrimp, but it was very good. Lots of other sides, and filling.
