Hauganes Whale Watching is Iceland’s most veteran operator of whale sightseeing tours. We utilize two traditional Icelandic oak vessels which provide ample space and superb stability in the tranquil Eyjafjörður fjord, a haven protected from the rough North Atlantic Ocean. Our tours fall under the category of ‘slow travel’, giving you the opportunity to relish the breathtaking fjord scenery and its wildlife without any rush or disruption to the natural habitats.

Our trips are carbon neutral because for every tour we undertake, we plant a tree, and we mix the fuel with bio-diesel produced in Akureyri (North Iceland’s capital, just a 25-minute drive south from us) using recycled frying oils from local eateries.

Apart from the whale watching, our location houses a restaurant, a campsite, hot tubs beside Sandvik’s black beach, and the renowned beer-spa situated just 5 minutes drive north from us.
