Built between 1654 and 1676 for Count Carl Gustaf Wrangel it is a monument to the Swedish Age of Greatness, the period in the middle of the seventeenth Century when Sweden expanded to become one of the major powers in Europe.

- Sigtuna Boardwalk - Sigtuna was founded on what was then the shore of Lake Mlaren just over 1,000 years ago. It took its name from an ancient royal estate (see Uppsala d) several kilometers to the west (see Fornsigtuna). Various sources claim King Eric the Victorious as founder while others claim King Olof Sktkonung.

Beautiful castle, charming town - Great tour and Great driver! Skokloster Castle was grand but also quiet not too crowded which was nice. The drive was comfortable, and the guide was friendly. Sigtuna was so pretty, loved walking the old streets. It’s a relaxing way to see a different side of Sweden and we love very bit of it

A different side of Sweden - This was the perfect escape from the busy city. The castle is stunning we had plenty of time to explore. Sigtuna felt like a step back in time with Viking stones and old ruins. It’s a calm and interesting day out, very well organized. The Services provided to us were top-notch

History and charm all in one day - Loved this tour it was such a nice mix! The castle was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful to explore. Sigtuna had this small-town charm and cool Viking history. The guide was relaxed and didn’t rush us. Would do this again for sure.

Top Notch! - This tour was excellent! We learned so much and Kate was a wealth of information in every subject. She was kind, patient and attentive to our needs. It's a long day but well worth it.
