Full Day Giza Pyramids & Sphinx, Camel Riding & the Egyptian Museum
Pyramids of Giza - The Giza pyramids and Sphinx are not only the best places to visit in Egypt but are also the most iconic ancient monuments you must see in your lifetime. The Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx are probably the most famous ancient sites in the world and the only ones still existing from the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World. Your trip to Egypt is not complete until you visit the Pyramids of Giza. Even if you have visited Egypt multiple times, you should visit the Pyramids every time you are in Egypt. The pyramids and the Sphinx at the base of the Giza plateau are the iconic images of Egypt. Don’t forget to take a photo in front of the Pyramids and Sphinx.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, commonly known as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, in Cairo, Egypt, houses an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display and the remainder in storerooms.
Explore Sakkara Hidden Gems, Dahshur Pyramids & Memphis
Step Pyramid of Djoser - The most conspicuous landmark of Saqqara is the Step Pyramid, the tomb of the Third Dynasty ruler Djoser or Zoser, built by Imhotep and thought to be the earliest major stone structure erected in Egypt. The form of the pyramid can be explained as a development of the large mastabas (mud-brick tombs) of the First and Second Dynasties; the six steps, each smaller than the one below, were produced by the addition to the original mastaba of successive new layers of masonry, accompanied by the enlargement of the lower stages. The Step Pyramid stands 60 meters high and is built of locally quarried clay sandstone of poor quality. You can no longer enter the pyramid due to safety issues. The chambers and passages in the interior of the pyramid served partly for the burial of close relatives of the King (in particular those of his sons who died in childhood) and partly for storing grave goods for the use of the dead.
Memphis and Sakkara - Memphis was the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch, the first nome of Lower Egypt. Its ruins are located near the town of Mit Rahina and it has the biggest statue made by man, the great statue of King Ramses II, and the alabaster Sphinx of Queen Hatshepsut.
Visit Old Cairo & The Citadel & Alabaster Mosque & Bazaars
Cairo Citadel - The Saladin Citadel of Cairo is a medieval Islamic fortification in Cairo, Egypt. The location, on Mokattam Hill near the center of Cairo, was once famous for its fresh breeze and grand views of the city. It is now a preserved historic site.
Khan Al-Khalili - Khan el-Khalili is a major souk in the historic center of Islamic Cairo. The bazaar district is one of Cairo’s main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike.
Coptic Cairo - Coptic Cairo is a part of Old Cairo that encompasses the Babylon Fortress, the Coptic Museum, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George, and many other Coptic churches and historical sites.
Cruise Down The Nile - Embark on your Nile Cruise
Temple of Karnak - Karnak Temple is a vast temple complex in Luxor dedicated primarily to Amun and dating from as early as 2000 BC. It is an impressive sight, second only to the Great Pyramids in popularity.
Luxor Temple - Luxor Temple is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city today known as Luxor. It was constructed around 1400 BCE. In the Egyptian language, it is known as Ipet Resyt, “the southern sanctuary.”
Cairo International Airport - After your breakfast, you will check out of your hotel in Cairo and be transferred to the Cairo airport to take your flight to Luxor.
Discover The West of Thebes, Valley of the Kings & More
Valley of the Kings - The Valley of the Kings is the ancient burial ground of many of Egypt’s New Kingdom Pharaohs. A truly impressive site! There, you will find Tutankhamen’s tomb, which was discovered almost intact in 1922, and the tomb of Ramses IV, among others. A ticket will allow you to visit 3 of the 63 tombs on site, except Tutankhamen’s tomb. The tombs have suffered greatly from treasure hunters, floods in the past, and in recent years, from mass tourism: carbon dioxide, friction, and humidity from taking photos with flash inside the tombs, and the average of 2.8g of sweat left by each visitor have affected the reliefs and the pigments of the wall paintings. The Ministry of Antiquities has installed dehumidifiers and glass screens in the worst-affected tombs and introduced a rotation system for opening tombs to the public while restoring others.
Temple of Hatshepsut - The temple of the strong lady, the first lady of ancient Egypt, Her Majesty Queen Hatshepsut. This woman ruled Egypt for about 16 years after her brother-husband Thutmose II. She built this temple as a funerary temple and used to rule Egypt as a male king because it wasn’t allowed for a woman to rule Egypt. She married her brother to justify her right to the throne of Egypt. Moreover, Queen Hatshepsut married her stepson Thutmose III and put him in the shadow for 16 years. When he became an adult, he killed her and then became the king of Egypt. As an act of revenge, he destroyed everything related to this queen. When you visit her temple on the west bank, you will find that he removed all her names from the walls. The temple of Queen Hatshepsut has a unique style consisting of 3 floors cut into the cliffs of the mountain of the Valley of the Kings. Queen Hatshepsut was buried in the Valley of the Kings with the pharaohs. We discovered her mummy in the Egyptian Museum storerooms, and now it is displayed in the Mummy Room.
Colossi of Memnon - The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who reigned in Egypt during the 18th Dynasty. For the past 3,400 years, they have stood in the Theban Necropolis, located west of the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor.
The Ancient Cities of the Nile - Explore The Temples of Edfu & Kom Ombo
Temple of Kom Ombo - The Temple of Kom Ombo is an unusual double temple in the town of Kom Ombo in Aswan Governorate, Upper Egypt. It was constructed during the Ptolemaic dynasty, 180–47 BC. The southern half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world with Hathor and Khonsu.
Temple of Horus - This Ptolemaic temple, built between 237 and 57 BC, is one of the best-preserved ancient monuments in Egypt. Preserved by desert sand, which filled the place after the pagan cult was banned, the temple is dedicated to Horus, the avenging son of Isis and Osiris. With its roof intact, it is also one of the most atmospheric of ancient buildings.
Aswan Sightseeing Philae Island & Abu Simbel Temple
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - The Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock temples at Abu Simbel, a village in Nubia, Upper Egypt, near the border with Sudan. They are situated on the western bank of Lake Nasser, about 230 km southwest of Aswan.
Temple of Philae - One of Nubia’s most important monument sites, the Temples of Philae, 12 kilometers south of Aswan, was an ancient pilgrimage center for the cult of Isis and dazzled travelers with its power for centuries. This sacred site was venerated from the Pharaonic era up to the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine periods, with each ruler adding their own stamp onto the stones here. Saved from a watery grave by UNESCO’s rescue project, which transferred the monuments block by block from Philae Island to Agilika Island, today, the temples continue to work their charm on all who visit.
Cairo Once Again From Aswan to Cairo by Air
Cairo International Airport - After breakfast on your cruise, check out and fly back to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be transferred to your hotel to relax.
Discover the Treasures of Alexandria City - Full Day
Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - The catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa are a historical archaeological site located in Alexandria, Egypt, and are considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages.
Pompey’s Pillar - Pompey’s Pillar is a Roman triumphal column in Alexandria, Egypt, the largest of its type constructed outside the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople, located at the Serapeum of Alexandria.
Ancient Roman Amphitheater - Basically, an amphitheater means a double theater and was grand and impressive in structure. Usually built in a semi-circular shape, an amphitheater was an open-air theater with no curtains on the stage. The Roman Theatre of Egypt is modest in size, and most of the structure is in a ruined condition, but it is still an excellent ancient structure from the Roman period of Egypt. The theatre also consists of numerous galleries erected crudely.
Kayetbai - Sultan Qaitbey built this picturesque fortress during the 14th century to defend Alexandria from the advances of the Ottoman Empire. His efforts were in vain since the Ottomans took control of Egypt in 1512, but the fortress has remained, strategically located on a thin arm of land that extends out into Alexandria’s harbor from the corniche.
