The best trip to Cairo - This is was a great day trip for our family. Sherif was very informative and helpful. The best part was that he customized the trip according to our needs as we had kids with us and needed to take breaks and make changes to our trip on the spot.

A great way to see major tourist sites on a short timeline - I had a 12 hour layover in Cairo and decided to book a tour since I don't know when I'll get back to Egypt again. I picked this tour to have some flexibility and was very happy with my choice. Tour guide Mohamed Mahmoud was very knowledgeable and friendly and easy to coordinate with. Since my flight arrived before the pyramids open, he suggested beginning with coffee and a felucca boat ride on the Nile, which was a lovely start to the day, and then we went to the Giza pyramids and the Sphinx and ended up at the Egyptian Museum before having koushari for lunch at Abu Tareq's restaurant. They threw in a couple of nice extras, like the camel ride by the pyramids, at no extra charge. The COVID situation has kind of killed tourism, which had the silver lining for me that I got to see the Pyramids and museum without the normal crowds (that also helped to alleviate my concerns about COVID as it was quite easy to social distance. The tour also provided sanitizer, mask and wipes).
Also thanks to driver Saeed for navigating us through the day and getting me back to the airport on time.

Cairo layover tour with Mimo - I booked a customizable Cairo airport layover tour. The guide, Mimo, reached out to me the day before departure via WhatsApp to introduce himself and gave me instructions about meeting up at the airport. Since Cairo airport was a bit confusing, I texted Mimo upon arrival, which made it easier for us to find each other. We immediately started planning which sites are feasible to see. We saw the pyramids and the Sphinx site, then had a really great lunch. After that Mimo took me to the Papyrus Institute, which turned out to be a tourist trap, but with no pressure to buy anything. There was a demo of making papyrus, but everything else is entirely skippable. We were really lucky that The Egyptian Museum was open late that day. There were very few people in there and Mimo provided an amazing commentary on the most important exhibits. After that we headed out, walked through the bazaar, via Muezz street and to the old Cairo gates. Mimo and his driver took me back to Le Meridien hotel at the airport after 8 pm, so I spend close to 7 hours on this tour. I think this tour was the best possible option for the long layover. Having been on great many guided tours, walks, and excursions, I can confidently say that Mimo was one of the nicest, patient, and caring guides I’ve ever met. My most sincere thanks to Mimo for being a part of this amazing experience in Cairo!

Layover to Cairo with king Hima and saaed - We loved Hima, and Saeed was an amazing driver.
We highly recommend letting someone else drive, because watching the driver dodging traffic is part of the fun of this tour.
Hima was awesome as a guide. Beyond expert. His knowledge of all egyptian history was spot on, and he was a great story teller on top of it. He made sure we got the most out of every minute, even though our tour started after 1:00pm.
Would highly recommend.

Layover with King Hima and Saaed - This was my first experience booking any kind of layover tour and I have to say that Hima and Saaed were amazing guides and drivers! From the moment we arrived they ensured we saw everything on our list, while having fun and sharing their very extensive knowledge of the history and sites. We had a blast with them and it was a great use of our layover time. Would highly recommend!

Waleed was a fantastic guide - Waleed was my guide, and he was fantastic. His knowledge and passion for all things Egyptian are incomparable (he's been a guide for nearly a decade and is an Egyptologist). He knew exactly how to beat the crowds, what to eat and wear, and where to take the coolest photos (who doesn't want that distorted perspective shot of the pyramids?). He was easy to communicate with and prompt at picking me up at the Cairo airport.

Never showed up. Zero communication. Total fail. - We booked this tour ahead, chose a pickup location and time, and emailed the company 3 times to make sure that pickup was clear. The company never responded to any of the emails. When we arrived at the pickup location we called about 10 times to the phone number listed. The phone was never picked up. The guide never came. No apology or explanation was ever received. Our money was taken. We had to find another guide. Viator has also been extremely slow and unhelpful in giving a refund.

NO SHOWED ME FOR OUR TOUR. Do not book. They should be removed from Viator. - The company NEVER SHOWED UP! Charged me and then messaged me hours after I had been waiting at the pickup spot after never answering calls. Very unprofessional. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. Find another one.
