- Nosy Be Market - In the main square of Hell Ville, there is the indoor city market full of exotic spices, oils, fruits, a wide variety of seafood, all kinds of weavings and much more. There will be plenty of time to browse and buy souvenirs, fruits, spices and oils. But you can also wander into the surrounding streets, where the market continues endlessly all the way to the old port of the coast.
-
Ambanoro - Founded before 1800 the village is the first town of Nosy-Be, an important maritime trade centre and port for Arab and Indian spice and slave traders.
We will visit the first village and cultural heritage of Nosy-Be: the Ghost house, Indian house, Madagascar’s first mosque and the old Indian cemetery. There we will gain insight into the folklore traditions of Nosy-Be through the RAVINALA Women’s Association. -
Route de L’Ouest - After lunch, it’s a good half-hour drive to the hidden sacred waterfall in the heart of Nosy Be.
Here, a short 10-minute walk through the jungle leads to the waterfall. You will have about an hour and a half to two hours to admire this natural beauty and take a dip in the waterfall’s cool waters. You can even jump off the cliffs into the lake. We are always accompanied by some locals, mainly children who are very friendly and helpful. They are happy to show us where we are allowed to jump from, but they are also careful not to violate the sanctity of the place.
