Highlights
- Seljalandsfoss - The famous waterfall one you can walk behind. Be careful you might get wet :)
This unique waterfall flows from the infamous glacier Eyjafjallajökull, the molten-syllables-which nobody can pronounce good for nothing volcanic glacier that stopped all the air traffic over the North-Atlantic back in 2010.
At Seljalandsfoss there are restrooms, a food stall and a small gift shop. The restrooms are free of charge.
NOTE:
- Skogafoss - An archetypal waterfall, Skógafoss is one of the most beautiful and tallest waterfalls in Iceland.
There is a staircase leading to a viewing platform for the waterfall and surrounding areas. The platform gives you an expansive view of the south coast, Eyjafjallajökull and Skógafoss.
NOTE: the restrooms are behind a paywall and entry costs ISK 200 / USD 2.
- Solheimajokull Glacier - Sólheimajökull is a glacier tongue, an offshoot off of the main body of Mýrdalsjökull glacier.
We walk towards Sólheimajökull, through the valley it has carved out of the mountain scape and along the glacier river it forms at its base. The valley is a chaotic collection of rocks, gravel and sand which the tongue ground down as it passed over the land.
The glacier is unlike others as it is striped with layers of ash crushed between seasonal layers of ice, but the glacier is surrounded by multiple active volcanic stations.

- Reynisfjara Beach - Reynisfjara, or the Black Sand Beach, is truly a natural marvel. The site offers beautiful basalt columns, a natural arc viewed from afar, troll-like sea stacks and during the summer season there are thousands of puffins which make the cliffs of the Black Sand Beach their home.
We do both sightseeing and the lunch break there. The restaurant overlooks the South Coast and offers bites suitable for any palate and diet. Restrooms are free for customers.
- Vik - A short photo stop at the photogenic village of Vík. We stop by the town’s church where the troll-like basalt stacks and the village provide the perfect background for a selfie :D

Exceptional South Island Tour - This was among the best excursions we have ever taken. Our guide was exceptional. He was informative and also had a great sense of humor. Every one of our stops were eye popping.
It also did not hurt that the weather was beautiful. After our time in Iceland, we were on a
two week cruise of the British Isles. However, none of the tours from our cruise came close to our experiences on this tour.

Jammed packed insta worthy scenery - The whole tour was so beautiful. Each stop was memorable. The bus was comfortable. Our guide was knowledgeable and well informed. I would recommend.

The waterfalls and glacier were incredible, and the tour guide made the trip! - Our tour guide, Vöilli, was beyond excellent! His enthusiasm and tuning into the group were spot on from the minute he picked us up. He planned out our route perfectly and showed us things off the beaten path! You can tell he really cares about his job and making sure that people feel wowed by Iceland! Definitely recommend taking his tour.

A great all day tour highlighting the natural beauty of Iceland’s southern coast - This was a fantastic tour of some stunningly beautiful natural scenery along the southern coast of Iceland. My wife and I traveled in a very comfortable bus along with 12 other passengers. Your Day Tours did an excellent job of emailing us all the necessary details for the tour and we were promptly picked up at the specified location close to our downtown hotel. Our driver and guide was Volli, who was an excellent driver and an interesting and informative guide. He was happy to answer all our questions, take photos of everyone and was simply a joy to be around (it was Volli’s birthday, but he seemed eager to make sure we got all the gifts and added a few extra bonus stops to the itinerary). While there were some long stretches of driving, the scenery and commentary was always lovely. The day’s highlights included numerous beautiful waterfalls and a black sand beach with some amazing rock formations. This tour was every bit as amazing as the famous Golden Circle itinerary and Your Day Tours did a great job of providing it.

Great tour: poor booking process - Our guide Alex was excellent and the tour itself was great. The booking process was frustrating, however. I had specified a pickup point when I booked (bus stop 9) but the tickets said to contact the tour operator about the pickup. The only means of contact was CHAT which got absolutely no response. The hotel desk finally reached the provider and confirmed my pickup location. It would have been simpler and less stressful if either the tickets or confirmation email had included the pickup point

Great places to visit, tour company not so great - The South Coast is not to be missed, beautiful scenery !!! Our guide was nice enough and the stops on the tour were great.
I would strongly suggest considering a different company as planning, time management and customer service was not great.
An hours drive into the trip, many of us sat on the bus at a service station for another hour waiting for people who the company had forgotten to pick up initially. That led to the whole day being rushed and our entire trip feeling a bit like an episode of Challenge Anneka.
Once the rest of our tour peeps joined us, the “small group tour” became too many people squeezed into a small bus on a tight time table !!!
Due to a lot of complaining from my fellow passengers, the tour company agreed to give us all a 15% discount which I am yet to see 2 weeks later.
We made the most of the trip and had a nice time, but a sense of humor was definitely required !

Great sites….reckless driver/guide - The actual stops on the tour were fabulous sites to see and experience. Some stops felt rushed. Our driver’s driving was wreckless as we held on tight as he weaved in and out of lanes of traffic, sometimes passing 3 and 4 vehicles (of oncoming traffic, mind you) at a time.

"YOUR DAY TOURS" IS A HORRIBLE OPERATOR, DO NOT USE THEM - Do not use "YOUR DAY TOURS" for this excursion! Our pick-up window was between 8AM and 8:30AM on Sunday 6/30. We arrived at the location at 7:45AM and waited until 9:00AM. At 8:30AM I tried messaging the operator via the Viator app, but received no response. I then called the phone number provided by YOUR DAY TOURS, but could not get anyone to answer the phone. I called eight times, and could not get to a live person, no matter what option I chose. Their "phone tree" is so screwed up, that no matter what number button you push to transfer, you get immediately disconnected. I finally called Viator and explained the situation, and it took Viator 20 minutes to reach Your Day Tours, and then reach the driver for the tour. The driver's response was "I forgot the pick-up". WHAT?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Viator provided a refund, but to this day (four days later), I still have not received any response from my messages to Your Day Tours, and have not received an apology. Nothing! This operator (YOUR DAY TOURS) is horrible, do not risk your time or money on them. They obviously do not care about the customer's experience.
