Good trip but too long. - The tour itself was very good. Boat trip to the island was fun although very rocky. If you get sea sick beware. Island was nice, very walkable and interesting. Our tour guide Chrystina was great. Knowledgable and engaging. My BIGGEST complaint is the bus trip. The booking clearly says 1 hour bus to the town of Agios Nikoloas. We were the first pickup in Héraklion but there were TEN other pickups bringing our bus trip to nearly 3 hours. If I had known that before hand I would not have booked this trip. It was 2 hours coming back. Five hour bus ride instead of 2. Tour was supposed to be 8 or 9 hours and was 12

Long waiting times... - Helpful and knowledgeable tour company and good choice of trips. We booked 2 trips including this one. Unfortunately they did not explain we would be picked up and then taken to a petrol station to then get on the actual tour bus. We sat there for 20 mins with no knowledge of what was happening. We all were a bit confused. It wasn't a big problem but a heads up would be useful! We arrived in Agios Nicolaus late and had about an hour then on to the boat. No real notice of who was on or off so not sure how they kept track of us. Then lunch which was poor. Nice chicken leg, a dollop of shredded cabbage with a bit of feta and a slice of bread. No butter, dressings or seasoning. Served like school dinners. Ate the chicken but rest was inedible. This seems to be the norm for these trip lunches but if you do the Safari trip to Zeus Cave the lunch was excellent! Queued to get on the boat. Drinks and snacks available but cash only. We were not told this and only had a card so no drinks for us! Only 20 mins to swim then to Spinalonga. Took ages to get off the boat and then queued again for tickets (not included). Then a guide gave some history by which time we had about 20 minutes before we had to get back on the boat. Nowhere near enough time to explore this historical site. The trip was ok. Lovely scenery and a good day but felt we did nothing but queue and wait around all day in the heat. Would not do this again

You get what you pay for. - The tour was good, enjoyed what we saw of Spinalonga but you don't get enough time ro properly explore it and for EUR24 entry that was a bit disappointing. The boat was a bit crowded and made Meal time a bit chaotic, we booked through Viator and that classed our 3 year old as an infant (1-3) which meant she didn't get allocated a seat on the bus or Lunch Ticket. Although the tour guide eventually sorted this out, she kept saying "don't blame us blame the booking company" which I felt under the circumstances if the two companies are going to work together need better communication. I also wouldn't recommend this tour with small kids due to the crowded boat and difficulty managing them in those circumstances.

Good excursion with some improvements needed - Pick up available close/at hotel, tour guide was well informed of historic places as travelling through to Agios. The boat however was VERY overcrowded by different pick ups. At Spinalonga we was with a guide to inform us about the history of the fortress, however once this tour finished we wasn’t left with much time to fully explore the area, it would of been nice to have enough time to go to the top of the viewpoint. Kolokytha bay was lovely but small, you’re able to jump off the boat and had approximately an hour to view the area and swim. The boat docks at quite a rocky area so suitable footwear is advised and definitely watch out for sea urchins. There is a beach further along however. The lunch offered wasn’t much to be desired but was okay for the price considering. There is a vegetarian option (wrap) and the food for non veggies was a chicken leg with 2 pieces of bread and cabbage with a piece of fruit. Snacks/drinks were available on the boat (additional cost). Agios Nikolaos was a lovely area with plenty to explore - unfortunately it did rain which was a big shock for locals! Overall for the cost it’s okay, and was a good excursion experience. To improve I’d say it would be good to allow more time to really explore the places included in the cruise as it felt rushed and lot of the time.

Spinalonga Terrible trip - We arranged 2 trips with this company. Firstly we spoke to a women who was lovely and friendly however then we got one with drowned eyebrows and brunette hair. She charged us more than what the other women said it would be. The Chania trip was lovely although basic and no guide for when we actually got to Chania or Rethymon. By the time we had eaten we had no time left to actually walk around properly so felt rushed. It also states 1-2 hours travel time but with traffic this is 4 hours there and 3 hours back. The Springalonga trip was a disaster from the get go. We arrived in Agios Nikolas to board the boat which was old fashioned and run down. The ramp leading up to it was rocky and felt like your belongings would go flying off. I have never felt sea sick until this trip which made my stomach turn from the get go. I had to spend most of it inside with my eyes closed. In addition all the water was pouring into the boat. We stopped off at a bay which was nothing but rocks and was sold to us as a bbq on the beach but it was lunch on the boat. This entailed some dry chicken, coleslaw and a block of Greek cheese with a pear on the side. Drink offered was warm orange juice or wine. They also told us to get up to let other people sit so they over populated the boat. As we docked at Springalonga we were told we could either buy tickets to see the archaeology (of which discriminates British people and makes them pay extra) or wait at the side. The booklet advertises ‘free guide’ but entry to the archaeology at a charge but doesn’t specify the guide will tell you no history unless you go in. So we spent an hour and 20 minutes sitting on a wall. We were told by a couple at our hotel the island and around it was lovely so if we had docked on the other side this would have been possible but this was a scam. Agios Nikolas as a town was beautiful with quaint shops for purchasing souvenirs and higher end clothing. We returned to the travel agency the following morning to discuss our issues and the women originally said it’s because of the weather we can’t do much about it. However, there were smaller boats smooth sailing across, it just so happened to be our boat that felt like we were going to go overboard. She then said I will see if I can contact my manager but I can’t promise anything. He came up with similar excuses and then said they have been doing lunches on the boat for 2 months now I said so why are you false advertising? Because there are two clear options in your booklet, one stating lunch on the boat, one specifying a bbq. He said ‘what do you want me to do?’ when I mentioned it was discriminating making brits pay more, he said please don’t speak like that in our office and then finally offered us a refund. However, this could only be paid in cash and we were leaving that evening. I wouldn’t waste your time booking with this company if I am honest! Save your money, the prices fluctuate.
