Wonderful experience - The trip is worth it. You have to have an early start to be able to get the ferry across to Santorini and the guide is useful. The ferry itself is big and has comfortable allocated seating like in the airplane, however be prepared to seat separate from your group as they randomly alocate them for some reason. It’s not too bad as you will be able to change as not all of the seats are filled. Also if you don’t like crowded places please avoid as the loading and unloading on the ferry it is very busy. The guide will take you to the important location and the ferry and you will have freedoms to explore for yourself the island. It is rather busy so better to visit during the week rather than the weekend. The views are stunning and you will enjoy every second of it. One restaurant to try for food is “1500”. The food is amazing and it has beautiful vies while you eat. It is very hot so if heat bothers you better not go as you walk a lot outside. Definitely recommend it.

Beautiful, but extremely crowded - The tour provider was incredible. From the people at the port assisting with the tickets, the guide and the bus driver. Talking about the bus driver, he showed an incredible sign of kindness. There was a family walking to the port in the narrow street and he stopped and offered them a ride. We were quite a bit of distance from the port when he did this. A truly admirable action. This tour provider was great. Now to my personal experience in Santorini. There were three cruise ships docked in addition to the people who arrived on the ferries. It was so crowded you had very little space to get good pictures and to move around. I guess the timing of my visit was off. The bigger adventure of my visit was navigating the crowd without any incidents, the photos I was able to take were just an added bonus. Beautiful place, just have to be ready for the incredible volume of people there at one time. Seen it, done it and barely got the picture. Would I do it again; maybe.

Too many tourists - This island is one of the most visited in Greece, 120 thousand tourists per day(!!!). All for photos taken on three streets of the island while in a terrible stampede of tourists like you. We spent more time on the road (an hour in the bus to the port+ 2 hours by ferry , totaling 6 hours) than on the island (stay limited to 1.5-2 hours). Once in a lifetime can be visited ))).
