Hard, but worth it - The experience was really fantastic. It was hard, but really great. May be a little bit too difficult for someone who is not hiking or walking long distances in everyday life. Really loved the guide of our excursion and everything was just a wonderful experience.

With the right group, that's a very nice memory. - The sailing trip is a lot of fun, the bath and possibilities are very nice, even if the fish did not feel like us.

Stunning scenery and hike - I was extremely impressed with tour operator Cretan Odyssey. My criteria for my on line search was date availability, tour in English, convenient pick up location and value for money. They met all requirements. The pick up was punctual and their organisation very efficient as I had to change coach at a restaurant stop to join my group.Maritsa was an exceptional multi lingual guide. She gave valuable information as we drove over the stunning white mountains to maximise our experience and enjoy wonderful views. She gave detailed instructions for our hike and pick up afterwards. We also we're lucky to have a driver ensuring our comfort and safety as we ascended the mountains on the hair pin bends. It was a very hot, sunny day so the gorge looked spectacular. The hike was challenging in the heat. You need to stop to take in the views because the path is rocky all the way and some stones are slippy. There are numerous welcome springs to refill your bottle to rehydrate. The last section through the narrow gorge is exposed so rehydration is essential in that section.I was exhilarated when I got to the end and experienced the beautiful, pristine clear Libyan Sea.Then a pleasant boat ride.I also liked the company trying to support local businesses, my 3 euro 50.souvlaki was good on the way back.Thank you Cretan Odyssey for a great day!!

Reputable & inexpensive car rental company that you can recommend with a clear conscience! - We rented a car at Heraklion airport for 14 days from Citycar. Very friendly, competent and quick service when booking (via email in English) and also on site when picking up. The car was a bit older but in very good condition. There were no problems with the return either. The landlord was again very friendly, competent and fast!

Great organized transport - Wonderful experience. I would say to bring lunch +/- snacks with you along with cash. Many of the stops before we got to the trail did not take cash and I wasn't prepared for that. The transport was amazingly organized and efficient. The trail is gorgeous! The walking stick I got at one of the stops was helpful and would recommend if you have any joint or balance issues. I think it is fine without one but easier with one at the beginning. I appreciated that we didn't have to go as a group so we got to go at our own pace and everyone spread out naturally so the trail wasn't crowded.

Amazing scenery but hard hike - Beautiful scenery but very difficult hiking, walking on rocks and stones most of the time. Must take good hiking shoes, poles and snacks. Water fountains and toilets are available along the trail.

Great Hike but a Hike! No swimming time. - We had a great time. The bus picked us up at our hotel. We had a chance to get some fresh orange juice and snacks before the hike. It is a medium to hard hike. Some people had to back out beforehand so be prepared. It’s mainly walking on dusty rocks so wear good shoes to walk in. It’s one of the prettiest and coolest hikes we have been on. There is water throughout to refill your bottles. The biggest complaint is the labeling and time. Our watches and phone did not line up with the KM markers throughout the hike. It also took us 7 hours to completely get to the beach, which we were booking it. It says you have 2 hours to swim but pretty much no one on our hike was able to swim. That was really unfortunate. We had snorkeling stuff and didn’t get to use it. Also lunch doesn’t come until the end of the hike so bring lots of snacks. We didn’t eat lunch until almost 17:00. Great time but the description is a little off.

Big day! - HUGE day. Pack light and bring plenty of snacks you can eat on the go. Lots of downhill and loose rocks. Gorgeous views that are worth the difficult hike and clear water at the end. Lots of water refill stations throughout. Tight deadline to get to the ferry, so you need to keep moving. The group doesn't stick together so be prepared to do the hike completely solo. Bring bug bite spray!

Samaria Gorge top, tour guide flop - It is a wonderful hike, not that difficult but it takes a lot of effort, the walls look like they were painted. What we didn't like at all was the tour guide Marisa, who put a lot of pressure on us to be on time for the ferry at the other end (the time is too much for inexperienced hikers to manage), she didn't walk with us and if something happened to us, she said we would spend the night there. Irresponsible. And the further east you go, the tour becomes an 18-hour ordeal.

awful - The experience was awful. It did not match the product description: (1) Description: "(The trail's) 18km long and takes around 4,5 hours to walk, always escorted by our experienced tour guide." --> Reality: The guide left us at the entrance to the trail and never showed up again until at the port. (2) As a result of not seeing the guide, we had no idea where to pick up our boat tickets at the port. (3) The guide slept on the boat and did not show interest in taking care of her tour group. (4) Description: "There will be enough time for clients to enjoy a relaxing and refreshing swim in the Libyan sea and lunch at one of the local small taverns." --> Reality: One had to walk the trail pretty much non-stop at a non-leisurely pace to earn probably half hour or so to relax+swim+lunch.
