Step back in time - This is a gem of a place to visit. It is most definitely a day tour even though your ticket gives you a 3 day pass to come back and finish tour. I highly recommend a visit in history.

Historical treasure - We only pulled into the Village because we were at a loose-end in the Tablelands, but we are so glad we did. Stunningly beautiful and immaculately preserved heritage buildings, well kept and naturally gorgeous landscapes and environments, and some delicious camp-cooked damper and billy tea to boot! Will be recommending to all our friends :) (When can we move into Elderslie House?)

Fascinating view into history - Fabulous experience relevant for all the family. Lots of different experiences. So many types of historical items all presented with great detail and care in an interesting way. Not a dull dusty old museum. Something for everyone. Can get a multi day pass which we did so we had a few hours on 2 days.

A magnificent experience - The best pioneer village experience I’ve been to including overseas. Authentic with great attention to detail and created with a lot of love and devotion. From the pub to the state school which was moved completely, to Ada’s dress shop and the record shop adhere you could guess the number of 78’s in a stack, to the vast array of farm machinery you just can’t imagine the amount of stuff that’s been collected here and put on display in such a detailed order. I loved the lifestyle carriage sheds I came across unexpectedly with a funeral carriage and horses and black plumes ranged above the encased hearse. Magnificent! Then the Cobb and Co coach Cooma to Queanbeyan! I’d highly recommend this to anyone with a slight interest in our history. It’s a true t’estiment to these citizens who’ve put it together. Well done.

amazing place, but go early in the morng after lunch is to late we missed all the working exhibits - Absolutely brilliant , one of the best tourist things we have come across , a word of advice , we visited after lunch and were asked " are sure you want to do this " we thought this was strange but the lovely lady explained it can sometimes take days to.go through this venue , apx $40 each , they offer a three day pass or an option to come back another day ( not possible for us ) so we did it and found out why the other offers there is literally thousands of artifacts and items and buildings to see , not possible in a couple of hours ( strange there was no limited time ticket eg: $20 as we could not possibly see it all , so lesson here is if you go ( don't miss it its great) but go very early in the morning and get the value out of the ticket

Sydney to Cairns 2023 - What an amazing place. You need to devote at least a half day or more to see the entire village and do justice to your visit. Situated on 16acres, there is everything imaginable of historic significance to see here. Lots of buildings, many dedicated to a specific relic. For example the record players room, it has music playing. Same for the piano teachers room, They have exhibits that work and you will find times where to be when they start them up. For instance the stationary engines, fire engines, old cars etc. From memory, the museum was started by one man who collected from childhood and then joined by another and then lots of relics were donated and hence 16acres of it. You cross the river by two ways, bridge or causeway to more exhibits and one of the largest generators I've ever seen. They have an area where damper and billy tea is made and served but unfortunately not at the time we were there. There is a nice cafe on site to enjoy a cold drink or lunch. There is also a 1/2 hour video on the Tin Mining that was responsible for Herberton becoming a township. Very interesting. One of the best Historical Villages we've been too. Well worth the drive from Cairns.
