A great day. - This place exceeded my expectations. Did not allow enough time. The collection is vast and varied. It really is huge. A full day would not cover it. My 11 year old grandson could not get enough.

Amazing place! - We spent the whole day here. Absolutely incredible display, that is so beautifully preserved. Staff members were all very friendly and offered their knowledge on the history of the area. In my opinion, $35 for adult entry is far too cheap for the experience at this little village. Not to mention this $35 gets you a 3 day pass! We loved it and will be recommending it to everyone we know.

Amazing & worthwhile - The demonstrations - the woodworking, blacksmithing, printer & John Deere tractor were terrific. The craftsmen are very knowledgeable & enthusiastic. The display of so many historical artifacts is unbelievable - a fantastic collection from days gone by.

Must be added to the bucket list if you're near Cairns - Well preserved and presented displays of the past with working engines and machinery. Allow a full day. There is so much to see.

History: Alive and well presented. - Wonderful collection of historic buildings, social history, pioneer experience and interactive displays. Delightful food and afternoon tea with great service. Highly recommended for those who want to understand pioneer life on the Atherton Tablelands. I would definitely visit again!!

An amazing place - My son loves trains so a train trip is a must on any holiday, so we went to Herberton to ride the train and the village was going to be secondary. The train ride was great but the village was amazing. At the front door I thought the entry price might be a bit steep however I was wrong. For what’s there it’s cheap as some of the items on display are worth a lot of money and the up keep wouldn’t be cheap. There’s even a wonderful kids playground which looks new and the facilities are so tidy and clean. The downside is we didn’t allocate enough time to see everything so I would recommend at least a few hours. As mentioned by others it’s a three day pass which is awesome however it’s a bit to far to drive back with the kids even though this kid wanted to do it. Well worth the trip.

Rich in history, the best historical/heritage museum I have ever been to or seen. - There is a reason they offer a complimentary 3 day pass. It truly would take 3 days to see and experience everything. What an amazing place! The rich history and countless pieces from a bygone era will leave any traveller overwhelmed and wanting to learn more.

Very colonial, lacking Aboriginal history - The owners have put a huge effort into showcasing early Australian colonial history but the near complete absence of Aboriginal history and culture is disturbing and inappropriate in modern Australia. I was torn between being impressed by what had been achieved here but also disappointed that people can only focus on colonial history. Apparently there is an exhibit of Aboriginal culture but it's very small and not prominent.

Train ride at the park - The historical village is amazing. Soooo much to see. So well kept. Only complaint is paying $20 per adult for a 5 minute train ride on the old train. This was a total rip off and I advise everyone else to keep your money in your pocket. Nothing to see along the way. Sooo short and soooo overpriced.
