It is the administrative center of the Herceg Novi Municipality with around 33,000 inhabitants. Herceg Novi was known as Castelnuovo (âNew castleâ in Italian) between 1482 and 1797, when it was part of the Ottoman Empire and the Albania Veneta of the Republic of Venice. It was a Catholic bishopric and remains a Latin titular see as Novi. Herceg Novi has had a turbulent past, despite being one of the youngest settlements on the Adriatic. A history of varied occupations has created a blend of diverse and picturesque architectural style in the city. You will have laizy walk around town have time for cake, caffe, ice cream.

Fantastic - highly recommend this tour! - Our guide Igor (unsure of spelling) was really knowledgeable, he talked for several hours straight while we drove, telling us everything about the areas we passed through. It was a lot of talking for so early in the morning, but interesting and kept us entertained throughout the drive! Montenegro is a beautiful place, we loved every destination we stopped at. Plenty of free time for exploring with a wide variety of things to do, which would cater to everyone's tastes. Can't fault this tour at all, thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Amazing tour to Montenegro - Amazing tour to Montenegro that exceeded our expectations. Our driver/guide Ivo provided exhaustive information about places we visited and drived through. The old town of Kotor was the gem of the tour, I wish we had another hour there. The ferry ride was a cherry on top of the beautiful day in Montenegro. This was one of the best experiences we had while visiting Dubrovnik.

Well worth taking a day out to do this tour - Booked this tour with Andrea via her stand in mlini. Our driver and guide Ivon was very informative, so much so that struggled to keep up haha. We loved the tour. Its such a beautiful country and well worth a visit.

A day out from Dubrovnik - Boat ride to Our Lady of the Rock. An early from Dubrovnik meant the island was not crowded at all. Also meant quicker passport clearance at the border.

We had a great time - Tour was great! Andre was really knowledgeable and friendly! We enjoyed every minute of it! We highly recommend! Definitely a must to do while visiting Dubrovnik.

Recommend to all - We booked 2 trips with Dubrovnik Smile. Andrea was very helpful with local information and tourist tips, as well as information on tours. Ivo was our guide for trips to Montenegro and Bosnia Herzegovina. He was very knowledgeable- past and present, and was fluent in several languages. Max of 8 people which helped with border and customs. We couldâve recommend company highly enough, and will use them again when we come come back. Moira and Pat, Ireland

100% recommend - Lovely lady and lovely driver! The trips were awesome! Had a fantastic time with my family. Definitely recommend, no hesitation. We went to Bosnia and Hercegovina (although I couldnât add that as activity as it only allows me to put one on tripadvisor) and Montenegro. Trips went smooth.
