Highlights
  • Verige - We will stop at Verige, the narrowest part of sea passage between inner and outer part of Kotor Bay. Great photo opportunities of inner part of Kotor bay, steep mountains descending into the sea, towns of Risan and Perast with sailboats, and an occasional cruise ship passing through the strait.
  • Perast - Perast is tiny medieval city of only 160 inhabitants, located between vertical mountain and Kotor Bay. During our stop in Perast, guests will have opportunity to marvel the Baroque Captains’ palaces and numerous churches with Saint Nicolas’s Cathedral and its bell tower - the tallest in all of Kotor Bay. In front of the city are 2 islands - Our Lady of the Rocks and Saint George Island. Our Lady of the Rocks is man made island in 17.ct with gorgeous Barque church and museum and can be visited on a short private boat ride from Perast.
  • Kotor Old City - Upon arrival to Kotor, once an independent city-state, and from 14.ct under Venetian influence, you will have time to explore its narrow streets, sunny squares, and churches followed by time for lunch (optional). We suggest entering the Romanesque Cathedral of Saint Triphon, Maritime Museum of Kotor, and Saint Nicolas Serbian Orthodox Church. Possible climb to Saint John’s Fort above the city of Kotor (750ft altitude).
Your guide will explain you all the important sites beforehand and hand you the free map of the city to explore it on your own.
  • Fort Vrmac - Old Austro-Hungarian Fortress - Fort Vrmac is the top of the Trojica Hill pass between Kotor and Grbalj. We will do 2 panoramic photo-stops.
One stop would be just before the pass so guests can enjoy views of inner part of the Bay with Kotor tucked in the very bottom of it.
Second photo-stop is just after the pass with great views to outer Kotor Bay, Flower Island, and the city of Tivat, its airport and boat marina.
  • Porto Montenegro - The town of Tivat used to be a military naval base for Yugoslav National navy but it underwent through a tourism renessaince in early 2000s where the naval base had been transformed to Luxury megayacht marina and hotel/resort town adjacened to historical town of Tivat. Have a stroll through its bustling sunny promenade and have a snack or lunch in one of the many Porto Montenego stylish or Tivat town more traditional restaurants.
  • Lepetane - During short 15 min ferry ride across the narrow part of Kotor Bay, guests can go out of the vehicle and do great photos of the Bay, St. Archangel Church and little villages of Lepetane and Kamenari.

Beautiful scenery and interesting history! - We took a private tour for 4 people, and it was phenomenal! Our guide Baldo was incredible knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and eager to share his experiences. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Montenegro and learning about its fascinating history. Our guide also took us to a great bakery and restaurant. It was very worthwhile to be conveniently driven between different towns while also getting more personalized information via a private tour.

A glorious day in Montenegro - We chose to depart Dubrovnik at 7 am. We were met by our guide, Filip, outside the Buza Gate. Immediately, we noticed the professionalism and the cleanliness of the vehicle. After brief introductions, we departed and began our journey. Filip was quick to point out history and facts about Dubrovnik, Croatia and the region, including our ultimate destination of Kotor. Filip pulled over at a number of viewpoints along the way and offered to take pictures of us to commemorate the day. We stopped for coffee overlooking the bay before continuing on to Perast. We had a refreshment before a boat tour of our Lady of the Rocks. Afterward, we entered Kotor and had some time to wander the city ourselves. Filip picked us up after the Kotor visit and took us to a "hidden gem" of a restaurant, which was wonderful. All aspects of the tour were wonderful and easy, from pickup, to the checkpoints, to the recommendations and the stops! Hightly recommend for a private tour.

Friendly - Jacob was friendly and punctual. He gave us a little history of what it is like to grow up in the area. Ample time to look around. Safe driver. Extremely patient. Gave us options of what we can do that day. Only thing I would have liked was maybe an option of a walk around in the various tourist areas with a little bit more history as a tour guide before letting us wander on our own. Otherwise, no complaints. no issues. Would do again. Small group is defintely better

Perfect day in Montenegro! - We had such a great time exploring Kotor Bay from Dubrovnik! Josip was our guide, and he had so many interesting stories to tell about the locations. Each stop was beautiful and we were able to get some delicious food. I would have loved to have more time at each stop, but getting to see so much in one day was great. We also mentioned how we hadn't gotten to go up to the top of Mount Srd, overlooking Dubrovnik. On our way home, Josip took us out of his way to get us up there for one last stop at the end of our trip! If you only have a short time to see the area, this is the perfect trip to see some of Montenegro.
