Setting Sail from Hermanus

As the sun began its ascent over the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, I found myself standing at the Hermanus New Harbour, ready to embark on a journey that promised encounters with the ocean’s gentle giants. The anticipation was palpable, not just within me, but among the small group of fellow adventurers gathered for the whale watching tour.

Our guide, Poul, greeted us with a warm smile and an infectious enthusiasm that set the tone for the day. Before we boarded the catamaran, Poul provided an insightful briefing on what to expect, sharing fascinating tidbits about the whales we hoped to see.
