Setting Sail on the Mediterranean

The sun was just beginning to cast its golden glow over the horizon as I stepped aboard the motor yacht in Hersonissos. The gentle lapping of the waves against the hull was a soothing soundtrack to the start of what promised to be an unforgettable day. Back on the yacht, we were treated to a delightful surprise. What was described as a snack turned out to be a full lunch, beautifully prepared and served with a side of warm hospitality. Sharing this meal with fellow travelers, exchanging stories and laughter, added a communal spirit to the adventure.

Our next stop was the small island of Afentis Christos, a place steeped in history and intrigue. The island’s origins, linked to the volcanic eruption of Thira, added a layer of mystery to our visit. As we approached, the sight of the solitary church, standing resolute against the backdrop of the sea, was a poignant reminder of the island’s storied past.

Exploring the island, I was struck by the contrast between its rugged terrain and the delicate beauty of the church. As we sailed back to Hersonissos, the sun began its descent, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange.
