To begin, you’ll have the opportunity to savor our herbal tea while listening to an expert discuss the heritage and cultural significance of Hoi An Lanterns….
Our Lanterns are crafted from silk and bamboo, available in a variety of forms including lotus, diamond, sunrise, and sunset.
The comprehensive 11-step process to create your own lantern is as follows:
Step 1: Fasten 12 bamboo rods using wire thread
Step 2 and 3: Mold the rods into either a sunrise (inverted triangle) or sunset (triangle) shape
Step 4: Place the bamboo rods onto a hanger and fix them in place with thread
Step 5: Choose your preferred silk and hue
Step 6: Apply adhesive and wait for it to set
Step 7: Position the silk and stretch it to envelop the rods
Step 8: Encase the sides completely with silk
Step 9: Adorn the top and bottom of the hanger with silk strips
Step 10: Pick out a tassel for the base of the lantern
Step 11: Complete! You can collapse your lantern and pack it in your luggage to take home
Additionally, the expert will craft an extra lantern for you as a unique token of appreciation at the conclusion of the workshop.

Absolutely fantastic - It was absolutely awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a lot of fun and also made a really cool lantern. I think the price was reasonable and would highly recommend this to anyone visiting hoi an.
It's a wonderful souvenir to take back home and also a nice experience.

Fun lantern making! - Very easy to book online for a good price! Located very close to our hotel and it was a fun experience with the workers taking you through every step of the lantern making process. Highly recommend!

A fun and creative morning - Well organized and set out. Very helpful instructor and very patient 😀 great English speaking instructor and easy to follow her instructions. She helped tidy up my handiwork at each stage so that I ended up with a very presentable lantern. Thank you!

Amazing fun! - Such a wonderful experience! We LOVED making our lanterns and would have loved to stay all day. The family who taught us were amazing and very tentative. A must do in Hoi An!

Fun lantern class - This class was a lot of fun! The workers are great (and hilarious if you make a mistake). The range of colors and choices you can make are fun as well. Try it and enjoy.

Lantern satisfaction - So much fun. We needed so much help and they really gave us all the help we needed. We came away with a lantern each that we will be proud to display at home. It is a family business and they made us feel special.

Best way to spend a couple of hours! - Myself and my family had a fun and therapeutic afternoon with Hoi An Handcraft making traditional Vietnamese lanterns. We learned about the history and different shapes of lanterns available, before being expertly instructed by the staff to make three of our very own beautifil lanterns.
