Got to luv Grandma’s cooking - Marvelous experience with Thom, a truly delightful guide who led Dee and I through a wonderful menu of Vietnamese dishes. Great personality intelligent courteous and full of information. Very rarely have we felt so relaxed and welcomed into the environment. The recipes are great too, fresh, hot and spicy depending on your taste. Great way to spend day. PS. Go easy on the hotel breakfast.

A fabulous day - we loved it! - This was one of the best things we did in Vietnam. We were a group of three families (8 kids aged 7-13) and everyone enjoyed the day - from the boat ride, to the education about traditional village life and cooking methods, to the delicious food and fun and easy cooking. I would highly recommend this for your group.

Authentic cooking class - We had the most amazing time at the cooking class. Thom was so wonderful with how she taught communicated with each and every one of use there. She made us feel like one of her family the whole time we were with her. I cannot recommend her and the class highly enough. A must do if you are in Hoi An.

The school was very clean and beautiful we all cooked and they did well to cater for my son who is allergic to seafood with his own substitute. the food was delicious and will definitely be cooking it at home. Highly recommend was a great day out.

A great cooking school to experience authentic Vietnamese food - What a great experience! Thom was our guide, the grand daughter of Grandma’s home cooking class. After enjoying a boat ride of around 40 minutes we arrived at the small village of 400 people . We went to Grandmas house which has been converted into the cooking school. The dishes we made were all delicious. So clean with gloves to mix the food with, lovely clean area to wash hands and able to purchase cold drinks to have while cooking. So much delicious food, you will not be disappointed and a very authentic experience. You get a recipe book to take home so you can prepare these dishes yourself. Do not have breakfast before you go !!! Great value for money and would recommend. Thom’s English was perfect and she told us about the history of her grandma and was very entertaining during the cooking experience.

A wonderful Vietnamese cooking experience - This was a fantastic authentic Vietnamese cooking experience. A half hour boat ride to a quaint village at Grandmas house. Mrs Thom certainly did her Grandma proud! We were shown 4 different dishes to prepare and were thoroughly explained the origins, process and methods of cooking. Couldn’t be more happy with this experience and highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you Mrs Thom 🙏🙏

Just do it! No gimmicks, great food. - Absolutely delighted with our choice to go with Grandma’s. All I wanted was genuine Vietnamese cuisine and to avoid any touristy gimmicks and this is exactly that. We started off on a relaxing boat ride to the island where Grandma’s house is located. Thom (who was a fantastic host) gave us a bit of history on the island, the family, old techniques for processing rice and creating rice milk and rice paper. Then we started cooking. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. I won’t spoil anything but there was plenty variety. One bit of advice is maybe don’t have breakfast before the class, they didn’t skimp on the food. Fantastic experience.

Top activity in Hoi An - If you are looking for an authentic small group cooking course this is a MUST DO in Hoi An. After a short boat trip you will be away from the hustle and bustle of the city and end up with the family of Thom. Super friendly and nice hostess who shares other tips for your visit in Hoi An. You really get your money's worth! You cook delicious small dishes and get to know new flavor combinations. If you like cooking you can also buy the products (sauces, powders) at correct prices... Delicious activity to do!
