Authentic experience. We chose not to do the small round boats but Tommy tailored the trip to suit our requests! - We had a great day today with Tommy Dao on the countryside tour with him. I would recommend him and this tour to anyone who would like to get out of the hustle and bustle and have a genuine experience of traditional farming and meet the locals. Tommy was incredibly flexible and tailored the tour to suit our needs (which I changed many times before deciding what I wanted haha) He picked us up from our hotel, took us to the pottery village where we tried our hand at making our own (it's harder than it looks lol), then a lantern making class which was really fun! Then a stop off for a foot massage which was soooo nice! From there we had a ride on a very well behaved big beautiful water buffalo thn went to an organic farming village and met the lovely friendly local farmers and helped plant things in the traditional way, it was a really nice experience! The last stop was at a lovely restaurant where we had the best Vietnamese meal we've had since we've been here, was delicious and plenty of it!!! And just to add a lovely touch to the end of our afternoon, it was cold so Tommy gifted me new scarf to keep me warm. So, thank you so much Tommy and if anyone was considering a tour like this message Tommy Dao you won't be disappointed 😁

Vietnam Vacation - Out of all the places we visited, this had to be one of the better places. Vietnam was great and our tour guide Phong made it that much better. He gave us tour information and took us to some personal markets. He assisted us with everything we need and was available to answer all our questions. We did a tour in Da Nang and we also went to the countryside of Hoi An. Everything exceeded our expectations and we plan in coming back with our family and friends. Big ups to Tommy Dao Tours and our personal tour guide Phong thank you for everything.

Fantastic experience - Wanted to experience local area and culture. We did a private tour of the villages with our guide Lam, who was fantastic, his english was excellent as was his knowledge. We started at the pottery village, getting there early was great as very few tourists there, only saw another small group. Fascinating learning about the history of the village. We then moved onto a vegetable village where we helped plant crops the traditional way and had an impromptu musical performance from the farmers son on a tradional instrument. The buffalo ride was interesting, although being located next to a busy road lost a bit of authenticity. The water coconut village allowed us time to ride in the traditional round bamboo boats where we experienced traditional fishing methods. Lunch was sensational and lots of it. Overal, I would recommend this trip.

Truly memorable family experience seeing the real Vietnam - We took a motor cycle tour including local culture / farming experiences. Tommy was highly organized, communication very easy at all times which resulted in a hugely memorable day, involving so many activities for our family (inc 2 adult sons). 100% recommend this tour.

Most amazing tour - Did this tour with my 4 year old and it was amazing. We got to meet a local Vietnamese family, see how they grow their veg, meet a Buffalo, go fishing for crabs (which my son loved!) and then have a wonderful local lunch. Highly reccommend, Tommy is fantastic.

Bike tour, villages basket boat and water buffalo - Tommy is by far the friendliest and most helpful tour guide we came across on the while trip we did over Vietnam. I can’t advise people to book him more,I seriously wouldn’t advise people to look anywhere else. Tommy and his brother took us all over on bikes and we’re very informative throughout and the trip was arranged and we were picked up within the hour as we weren’t sure what we actually wanted to do till the last minute, if anything the only problem is that we wish we had met him earlier then we wouldn’t have wasted so much money using other people to do other tours that we’re not even nearly as good! It definaltey makes a massive difference not feeling rushed and Tommy really does enjoy what he does and it’s clear to see. Massive thankyou and hopefully see you again next year

Amazing day on the back of motorbikes - Such a great tour. We did so many things, basket boat ride first (wonderful young man was our boat paddler, excellent English and we had lots of jokes and fun), then it was off to the vegetable village to do some cultivating, planting and watering. We had the opportunity to ride a buffalo which was an experience and the buffalo took a shine to my travel companion, and gave her big kisses on her leg at the end. Then it was off to Cam Kim island to see mat making and making rice paper, both activities we were encouraged to try our hand with. Tommy and his other guide, Mr Ken, were fantastic and drove safely at all times. My first experience at pillion motorcycle tours and I am 64. I would highly recommend this tour to first time and repeat visitors to Hoi An, so much fun and many laughs. Tommy was so easy to deal with and we have booked 4 more tours with him. Great value and something you could not do without being on a tour. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Great day out! - Did the Hoi an country side tour organised by tommy dao. Great day out! Some suggestions for when people book their own tour. Pros: - As it was only myself and my husband we got to ride on the back of the guides scooters which was so fun and we saw so much without dealing with the heat of cycling. - Our guide NGoc and the second scooter driver, Nhon were great! NGoc’s English was great and she was so helpful (took us to the pharmacy to explain what we wanted etc). - Coconut boats and pottery making were cool - Restaurant that we went to was really nice food Cons: - Water buffalo riding was fun but we just went up and back in a field - would have liked to have been in a nicer setting - We went to a little farm to plant but was so small it felt like gardening in my back garden - really wanted to rice paddies experience

Great tours to experience Hoi An & beyond... - We had 2 tours with Tommy, these were arranged prior to leaving Aus and was arranged via FB Messenger. There was quite a bit of misunderstanding as what was discussed via FB Messenger was not delivered. Although Tommy did try and meet with us the night before the first tour but we were busy so declined as everything we wanted was already within the communication on FB so didn't feel we needed to. There was a misunderstanding with what was the first tour as we had requested the half day country side on first day and the full day My Son/Marble Mount tour on the second day, although when we were picked up the tour scheduled was the full day, after discussions on the phone with Tommy this was changed back to the half day Country Side tour. The first tour was a great way to experience the country side. This was the 'Experience life of a local' tour, the farming experience was great, the buffalo ride was awesome and our favorite part by far was the basket boat ride which was such a great experience! When we were told we were heading back to the hotel just on 11 I complained about it ending so short as we were expecting lunch and a 5 hour tour, not 3 hours and no lunch. The tour guide then rang Tommy and arrange for the rest of the tour, it was then extended to 1pm, we then went by a local pottery store and lunch at an average restaurant. After this tour I had told Tommy that I would not be doing tomorrows tour as I was quite disappointed by this experience which he then apologised for the miscommunication and that he is very busy as it is high season so he arranged to meet with us that night at our motel to smooth things over. He was very sorry for the mix up and offered us free transfers to the airport as compensation which was well received. The second tour we had with Tommy was to the Marble Mountains & My Son which were great, the lunch was not so great but the tour and tour guide was enjoyable although we didn't get any waters and towels on this tour like we did the previous tour so bought our own along the way as it was quite a hot day and couldn't go without. The bus/car for both tours were wonderful, new, clean & comfortable, the aircons worked a treat! Both tour guides were fantastic, very knowledgeable on the history of Vietnam and the places we had visited and both had great English. The actual tours were a great way to experience Hoi An & Beyond but recommend being sure of the schedule before locking it in. Also if offered meet with Tommy prior to the tours to ensure you are both on the same page with what is being delivered.
