You have the option to participate in one of three classes:
- Grade 1: Learn lantern-making techniques (excluding painting)
- Grade 2: Learn painting techniques (excluding lantern-making): You can choose to paint lanterns, scarves, canvas bags, or paper. If you’re inexperienced in painting, we’ll guide you through every step, starting with practice on paper before moving to lantern painting.

Grade 3: A combination package: Learn to both make and paint lanterns.
Each class includes instruction from skilled educators.
We also offer a selection of beautiful souvenirs and decorations available for purchase as gifts.

Fantastic Lantern making course - My daughter and I did the 1 hour Lantern making course and really enjoyed it. It is run by husband and wife team Hang & Dung and they are both so friendly & helpful. There are heaps of fabrics to choose from, a large selection of course times, and they provide snacks and water to drink as well. If you are thinking of doing a Lantern making course I would highly recommend doing it here.

Amazing experience and Great Value for money! - Words can't describe what a fab afternoon I had making the lantern. Hang and Dung are so friendly and are very patient showing you how to make the lanterns. Probably the best value for money experience and souvenier you can take home with you. 100% the best place in Hoi an to make them too. The tour group I was with also ended up coming making lanterns after me. I'm over the moon with my lanterns. You even get a free gift too. Thank you so much 🤩❤️

The best lantern making class and a wonderful time - Just had the best lantern making class! The engaging entrepreneur Hang that owns the shop with her husband ran the class herself. For a very reasonable price (basically the price of buying a lantern) Hang will guide you through the process of decorating one yourself. My partner and I did one each and Hang was instructional and helpful through the entire time. We enjoyed a wonderful conversation throughout too as Hang asked us about our holiday and we heard about her family and her history with the shop. It really was just the loveliest way to spend our time in the old town of Hoi An.
With the lantern making you can choose a pre-designed pattern or Hang will even teach you to paint on a plain one. We went with the premade pattern but with Hang’s great teaching I’m sure she could’ve even taught me to paint.
At the end of the class you keep the lantern you made (so choose your size and pattern accordingly) and although it’s nowhere near as stylish as the professional ones sold in the shop it is lovely having something you’ve made to remember the session.
I further recommend buying any Hang has made if you intend them as actual show pieces or gifts.

Unique experience - Such an amazing experience to do and provides you with a unique souvenir from your time in Vietnam. So many fabrics to choose from so you won’t be stuck for choice. The guide, Hang was so helpful and patient with me whilst I was making my lantern. Highly recommend to all who are in Hoi An

Great experience. Good pricing. Friendly staff - This was the second lantern making place we went to and it was definitely worth it. So helpful and friendly when making the lanterns. My daughter painted her own and Hang was so helpful. Prices for other souvenirs we decent as well. Highly recommend and I even went back the next day and bought some more gifts. Very trustworthy.

Couldn’t recommend enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - A group of 8 of us attended the lantern making class, and had the best experience. The staff are so lovely and Ms Hang was so patient with us! Couldn’t recommend enough!! Even got a freebie (magnet/bookmark) at the end- and the items in their shop are gorgeous. So cheap for the experience you get! ☺️

Must-do Hoi An experience! - My daughters spent a relaxed afternoon making lanterns with Miss Hang in her gorgeous shop. Thank you for your beautiful lesson and gentle encouragement. The results are amazing! Highly recommended.

Great fun. Do it - Great day in a lovely colourful working room with 6 or so friendly helpers (all cousins we were told of the family run business). Expert hands on to guide and correct any wrinkles. Was the right pace- lots of friendly chat (if you wanted that) but equally you own space was respected too.

Great class! - Would definitely recommend this class to anyone who visits Hoi An. Mrs Hang and her daughter Emma have a great workshop, we chose the first option to make the lantern and there were so many different fabrics to choose from! 10/10

Fun one-hour workshop with a friendly owner - We didn’t arrive at the shop until after dinner around 8:15pm and actually the owner didn’t offer workshops around this time because she wouldn’t have enough time to supervise the workshop because of other visitors to her shop. When we explained that we had wanted to come during the day, but had not succeeded due to unforeseen circumstances, she made an exception and we could make our own lantern in an hour from a bamboo frame, with self-chosen upholstery. Very nice to do and especially a very nice keepsake for home!!
