Great experience holiday in Da Nang September 2024 - We arrived in Da Nang on 14/9. Actually we booked service of Tommy Dao starting on 15/9, but it is really great when they picked up us at airport and send to our hotel. We did a day tour to Bana Hills and then visit Hoi An on the next day. Excellent service with time punctuality and knowledgeable tourist guide. Credit to Mr. Cong, young tourist guide and perfect speaking in english. Highly recommended

The guide was amazing - The entire experience was amazing due in part to the guide that met us. An old war veteran that was full of surprises and told many stories about the past and the area. The personal experience that he shares with us was exemplary. I think his name was "Can"... but not sure. If anyone else recalls this gentleman's name please let me know. I am going back to Vietnam in 2020 and would like to look this man up.

A Big Day with a Late Start. - Firstly, prepare yourselves for the steps. Be aware there is a lift at Marble Mountain. Good footwear is essential with good grip. Wet weather would bring restrictions to the access of Marble Mountain. Had a great trip with our own driver and car. We picked up our guide at Da Nang and went to Marble Mountain first. How amazing it was. From the views on the outer of the Mountain and ancient temple's to the inner of the Mountain with more areas to be amazed with. Then we went to see the majestic Lady Buddha on the Peninsula along with they many other adorning idol's. A Truely Beautiful area. It looks out onto the bay of Da Nang. At night the lights are a picture indeed. Then off to a restaurant for an evenjng meal. Traditional Vietnamese style. Was lovely. After the refue, we were then taken to watch the Drogon Bridge come to life. This only happens twice a week. Saturday and Sunday evenings . We got a very good vantage spot to watch the action. It will be one of my happy thoughts for a long time to come. Then the end of the evening came with our return to our accommodation. Our tour started at 3pm and ended at 11pm. A big day with a late start. But fantastic time. Must Do.

Fantastic tour of Marble Mountain - Just came back from half day trip to Marble Mountains, Lady Buddha Statue Dragon Bridge & Da Nang by night tour, booked through Tommy Dao Tours and it was amazing. Our guide Hua was fantastic, so knowledgeable and had us in stitches laughing with her fun sense of humour. Our driver Phe, was professional, safe and extremely good. We had a minor hiccup during the tour outside the control of the tour staff. To ensure that we had the best possible experience, even though the issue was not the fault of Tommy Dao Tours, we were treated to a fantastic meal with Tommy Dao himself, at a local Hoi An restaurant the next day. This was one of the best meals we have had in Vietnam in past few trips. Highly recommend Tommy Dao and his staff for any tours you may be interested in.

Marble mountain - We heard about Tommy Dao tours on FB page. Contacted them on messenger in the morning, immediately responded and we were booked to go in the afternoon. Had the pleasure of meeting Mr Ken and enjoyed listening to all the history of Vietnam. We learnt so much. He also took time to take lots of family photos for us along the way. It was a great afternoon. Highly recommend, ask for Mr Ken 👍

Marble Mountain, Son Tra Peninsula and Hoi An Transfer - We had a fabulous time with Tommy Dao Tours on our recent overnight cruise ship stay. Tommy arranged our return transfer to Hoi An from the cruise port so we could enjoy several hours in Hoi An in the late afternoon and evening. Then the following day Tommy drove us to Son Tra Peninsula and Marble Mountain and also provided us with a city tour. At the very last minute we changed the booking we had made months earlier and switched the tour days around so we could enjoy Hoi An at night and Tommy very professionally handled our unexpected request without any problem at all although we know it created a headache for Tommy at the time. We would highly recommend a private tour with Tommy's company. You wont be disappointed.

DaNang at Sunset with Tommy Doa - I have experienced the most beautiful sunrises and golden hours in the mornings at My Khe beach but had always wondered what sunset looked liked in DaNang. I knew that I had to get across the bay. I had to have the view of the Lady Buddha at the Lingh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra Peninsula 9 clicks away from My The beach. I therefore, contacted Tommy for a customised tour for me. I wanted Ken to be my guide as he had brought me to My Son and I loved his stories from the days of the American war and the post war days to stories of the Emperor Nguyen’s exploit with the huge carp his official caught. Do ask him about it, if you are fortunate to have him as your guide. Tommy tailored one of his Marble Mountain, Sontra Peninusula and Dragon Bridge to suit my wants. One tip - if you can, do this on a Friday, Saturday evening and watch the dragon spewing fire and water. I watched this last year, it was spectacular. I was wondering if they had an American war Flame thrower in the mouth of the Dragon. Unless you intend to get wet don’t stand to near the Dragon’s head on the street below. The tour started with a visit to the Marble carving factory. Not so much in my interest but there were quite a few beautiful statutes that I would not have been able to pack into my luggage. Next was the visit to Marble Mountain. I have been there before but without a guide. Ken is a fabulous guide and also a challenge. Ken’s knowledge was just super and he was a challenge because he is 73 years old and 10 years older than me. He was steady as a teenager climbing up and down the caves. My wife gave up and opted to go down. Not to be beaten by a war veteran I carried on. (By the way I recommended a lady about my age on the same tour to Marble mountain with Ken a week earlier, her son called me after the tour to tell me his mum was sleeping like a baby. She too had to meet up to the challenge with Ken. Haha) The lighted caves were beautiful and the sight from the top of the mountain was worth every ounce of sweat going up. Do wear sports shoes, light clothing (but ladies please do cover up as this a place worship) and carry at least a bottle of water. Going down seems to be trickier than going up due to the uneven steps. When we were done and eventually down we were welcome with cold water and wet towels below by Tommy who personally drove us around. Our next destination was the Lingh Ung Pagoda where the Lady Buddha is sited for a sunset view of DaNang. The Lady buddha structure was an awesome sight. It is believed that with her worship in building her statue, DaNang has been saved from several devastating typhoons. The sight in the evening from where she stood to watch over the city is breath taking, although there was a slight overcast that disrupted a perfect sunset but the beauty from the lights of the city later compensated for the little disappointment. If you are an avid photographer bring along a wide angle lens otherwise smartphone camera people take a panoramic shot. Ken’s stamina was still at maximum. As I walked back to the car he said no not that way, we are walking down the stairs, it was a gruelling decent but we survived. He had called Tommy to pick us at the base. With all the ‘punishment’ for the day I felt that I had paid my penance for all my wrong doings. Our second last destination was the beautifully lighted dragon bridge, Ken brought us along the river bank of the Han River to walk the Love Bridge and also view the Carp-Dragon statue very much like the Merlion in Singapore. The bridge is highly recommended for photo taking for Honeymooners. This site with the Dragon bridge is a very colourful site with brightly lighted boats cruising the waters of the Han River. Finally the most welcomed and satisfying part of the tour - Dinner. Tommy will bought us to his favourite and best pho (Vietnamese Noodles) in DaNang. I am not telling you where but get Tommy to bring you there, it is worth savouring every mouthful. A friend that I had recommended to take an evening tour with Tommy had consume two bowls because he said that it was so d *@n good. Oops, I forgot to confess, that if dinner was not enough Tommy ensured that I was really pacified with a night snack before bed (allowed on holidays). He drove us to place to get Ken to buy two take away Banhmi - really super sandwiches but do tell them not to add chili peppers if you can’t take spicy food. To accompany this night snack we were brought to another location for two take away very sweet Mekong Delta coconuts. Thank you Tommy and Ken, you made our day.
