• V82P+6XF - Start your day with a picturesque drive through the countryside to Tra Nhieu village, located just 5 kilometers from Hoi An Town. Upon arrival in this charming fishing village, a local fisherman will warmly welcome you. You’ll then board a traditional wooden boat, expertly paddled by the fisherman, where you’ll learn the age-old techniques of catching fish and shrimp using various fishing nets. Following this, enjoy a unique ride in a basket boat, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to paddle and steer one of these round boats. Once back on land, take a leisurely walk along the village paths. Your journey continues at the home of Mr. Hoang, a local farmer who will introduce you to his farming practices. He will demonstrate how to prepare the soil for planting vegetables. Return to Mr. Hoang’s home to experience a traditional foot bath therapy using herbal leaves. Then, participate in a cooking demonstration. Under the guidance of your host, you’ll grind rice to make noodles and rice paper, creating your own rice pancakes, fresh rolls, and other homemade Vietnamese dishes, including “smashed” rice paper. Conclude your meal with a cup of Vietnamese drip coffee before being transported back to your hotel.

We do not take you to Cam Thanh and Tra Que Villages as these areas have become more touristy and over-visited. Instead, leave the bustling Hoi An behind to explore a truly unique rural life experience. Our experiences are hosted by locals who cherish their homeland and are eager to share their passion with guests. Their village, Tra Nhieu, retains its peacefulness as it always has.

By joining us, you will work directly with locals in their daily routines, not as part of an “arrangement.” You will learn how to cultivate crops, from hoeing and raking the soil to planting vegetables and watering them. For fishing activities, you will board a basket boat, learn how to paddle, and then join the fishermen to catch fish and shrimp using traditional techniques. You can take your “catch” back to the host family to prepare a local dish of Rice Pancake. After the meal, you can also make a Vietnamese drip coffee by yourself.
