Additional Information

Get ready for a cheerful, welcoming day trip!

Immerse yourself in the picturesque surroundings of the Great Glen and the enigmatic Loch Ness as we journey along Loch Ness’s shores. We’ll explore the ancient Urquhart Castle, delve into its stormy history, and then head to the charming village of Beauly and the 13th-century French valliscaulian Priory.

A tasting session at Glen Ord Distillery awaits, where you’ll have the chance to try three individual malts.

We’ll enjoy lunch at a local eatery, offering a range of culinary delights (I’ll happily suggest top dishes). Our visit to the Fortrose Cathedral is up next, and we’ll also look out for dolphins at Chanonry Point.

To conclude our journey, we will visit the poignant, historically significant battlefield of Culloden and Clava Cairns.

The vistas are breathtaking - dramatic landscapes, historical castles, distilleries, and wildlife. I look forward to unveiling the magic of Loch Ness and Culloden, whether on a day trip or as part of an extended Grand Tour.

Excellent tour - Chris was an exceptional guide. Gave us his thorough knowledge of history and geography- interesting stories. He was flexible and made great suggestions - adding in a distillery tour that was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend.

Going back in time! - Urquhart Castle and Clava Cairns, I am a fan of the Outlanders books and to see where the battle took place and touching the stone was great! Our tour guide Doug was very interesting and arrived on time and got us back to the ship on time. I would recommend viator to everyone!

Clava Cairns - This is an amazing site to visit. It must have taken the people who built them a long time because some of the stones are very large. This is a must for all ages. Easy walking.
