• Loch Ness Region - The Glenfinnan tour begins in Inverness, heading south along the scenic shoreline of Loch Ness, with the first stop at the historic Urquhart Castle.
• Urquhart Castle - The tour departs from Inverness, traveling south along Loch Ness to reach Urquhart Castle. Take a moment to capture photos at this iconic site, offering stunning views of Scotland’s renowned loch, and maybe even catch a glimpse of Nessie!
• Glenfinnan Viaduct - The tour continues to the day’s highlight, the Glenfinnan Viaduct.

Nestled among the mountains by Loch Shiel, the Glenfinnan Monument commemorates a pivotal event in Scottish history: the 1745 Jacobite Uprising. Spend about an hour here to delve into the Jacobite history and snap iconic photos of the famous bridge.

This location is not only known for the Harry Potter bridge; Loch Shiel served as the ‘Black Lake’ location. See if you can spot a ‘grindylow’ causing mischief beneath the surface! It’s also where Buckbeak’s majestic flight, scenes from the Triwizard Tournament, and the picturesque loch where Hogwarts is set were filmed.

• Mallaig - From Glenfinnan, with its remarkable viaduct and monument, the journey continues west to Mallaig on the ‘road to the Isles’, or ‘Rathad nan Eilean’. This area, once controlled by Clan Donald, boasts some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery, with sandy beaches, dramatic hills, and unforgettable sea views.

At the journey’s end, arrive at Mallaig, a charming fishing port. The name Mallaig derives from the old Norse ‘Mel Vik’, meaning a sand dune bay. Enjoy lunch here, perhaps savoring local seafood, while taking in the sea views.

• Fort Augustus - After Mallaig, the Harry Potter tour heads east to Loch Ness, stopping at Fort Augustus. Enjoy refreshments with stunning views of the loch.
• Commando Monument - Pause for photos at the Commando Memorial, located at Spean Bridge.
• The Falls of Foyers - Visit the Falls of Foyers, a magnificent waterfall flowing into Loch Ness. Be sure to bring your camera for this picturesque stop!
• Dores - The final stop of the day is at Dores Beach, the northernmost point of Loch Ness. The beach offers a fantastic viewpoint of the loch, perfect for spotting signs of Nessie!

After Dores, the tour returns to Inverness, concluding the 1-day Glenfinnan tour.
