Additional Information

Join Cath, a local expert and certified tour guide, for a stroll through the charming city of Inverness. The Walk Inverness tour offers a rich tapestry of local history, stunning landscapes, architectural marvels, and captivating (though sometimes grim) stories that have shaped Inverness into the vibrant city it is today.

Embrace the spirit of Outlander as you delve into the brief yet decisive Battle of Culloden in 1746, where the fate of around 1500 Jacobites was sealed by poor decisions and challenging terrain.

Cath will enthrall you with Outlander references and tales of life in 18th-century Inverness, extending to the present day. She will share stories of clan history, folklore, and legends. Travel even further back to 565 AD to discover St Columba’s visit to the Highlands.

Highly recommend this tour - We were of course expecting Cath all dressed in red, so when Sandy arrived in his kilt it was a surprise. However not an unhappy one, he was excellent. He really brought historic Inverness to life for us. Excellent guide, highly recommended. He was also very considerate of my elderly mother's inability to walk at speed and always waited until the whole group was in place before telling us the next anecdote.

A Perfect Introduction to Inverness - We were in Inverness for the Etap bike race, so thought we'd take a tour of the city to get to know the place a bit better, and I'm so glad we did. Cath was a brilliant guide with deep roots in the city and the Highlands, massive amounts of local knowledge, able to answer any question we asked, able to respond well to the needs and interests of the entire party, and genuinely lovely to meet. For someone new to the city I couldn't recommend her tour highly enough. We got to see places to eat and drink, interesting local shops, historic highlights and marvellous views over the Ness. Not only did I learn a lot, but she gave us loads of ideas of what to enjoy on the rest of our trip.

A really tasty tour. - Cath has launched a food tour which is great news for anyone visiting the highland capital. We had been on her walking tour before but her food tour was a completely different experience. With a small group we visited bakers, a distillery, two pubs a deli and an ice cream parlour. All were fantastic and showed us some great places to eat. But for me the highlight was the experience of being out with friendly folk enjoying each others company as we learned about the history of Inverness.
