Starting our journey with a leisurely drive alongside the northern coast of Loch Ness, we’ll take a moment to explore Invermoriston, walking around the falls and dropping by the interesting Crafts and Clogs shop. Heading north-west from here, we traverse next to the picturesque Loch Cluanie, possibly taking a coffee break at The Cluanie Inn, before journeying through the magnificent Kintail mountain scenery. We can take a break near the bottom of the glen to take in the historical site of the Battle of Glenshiel (1719). From there, we’ll ascend the Ratagan pass, feasting our eyes on the stunning vista of the Five Sisters of Kintail before descending into Glenelg. In Glenelg, we’ll marvel at the renowned Glenelg Brochs, a pair of structures aged over 2,000 years situated just beyond the village, before boarding the community-run ferry to cross the sea to Skye. As we return via the Skye Bridge, we’ll scout for Highland cattle and palm trees in Plockton!
