- Skye Bridge - We pass over the bridge to Skye which used to have the most expensive toll in the world. Thankfully now it is free. We can make a brief stop for pictures.
- Sligachan - On a good day there are spectacular views towards the Cuillin, the mountains on Skye. There are easy short walks up the side of Allt Daraich, the Stream of the Oak and you can visit the monument to John Mackenzie and Norman Collie.
- The Old Man of Storr - We pass through Portree without stopping (don’t worry we can stop there later) and onwards towards the Old Man of Storr.
This is a large rock pinnacle formed by erosion and the walk takes about 30 minutes to its base. You can admire it from the road or take the hike up the path to the weird and eroded landscape.
- Kilt Rock - Kilt Rock, or Creag an Fheilidh in Gaelic, is named after its basalt columns which look like the pleats of a kilt.
The spectacular falls are also here and you can look out to the isles of Rona, Rassay and Eilean an Tighe.
There is often a Highland piper in the carpark also.
- Quiraing - Another spectacular landscape towers above Staffin, the main settlement in the north of skye.
- Staffin - Staffin is the main settlement in the north end of Skye. Here you can visit a beach, a small museum and some nice cafes.
- Portree - Portree is the main settlement on Skye with its harbour, nice walks and some good cafes. There are also souvenir shops for all tastes.
