Highlights

Day 1 - Isle of Skye Northern Island

Bride’s Veil Falls - Catch a glimpse of Brides Veil Waterfall, a picturesque roadside gem and photographer’s haven. Easily accessible, it’s a must-see on the way to the Old Man of Storr. After rain, the cascading waters are a sight to behold. Approach carefully for a closer view.

The Old Man of Storr - Old Man of Storr, a breathtaking landmark with its distinctive rock formations resembling a towering figure. A 1.5-2 hour hike to the summit rewards with panoramic island views. Best enjoyed early to avoid crowds, it’s a photographer’s paradise, especially at sunrise.

Lealt Falls - A Skye must-see in Trotternish, Lealt Falls offers a new viewing platform for the upper falls. A short walk reveals a 90-meter cascade into a scenic gorge, with various viewpoints offering unique perspectives.

Brother’s Point (Rubha nam Brathairean ) - Discover the hidden gem of Brothers Point, Skye’s tranquil paradise. With breathtaking peninsula views and well-preserved dinosaur footprints unveiled in 2020, it’s a 2-mile coastal hike.

Dinosaur Footprints at Staffin - Visit An Corran Beach by Staffin on the Isle of Skye to see dinosaur footprints on the rocks. These footprints are very old, from 170 million years ago, and you can see them when the water is low. It’s like looking back at a time when dinosaurs were alive.

Quiraing - Quiraing is a beautiful spot on the Isle of Skye, where you can walk on easy paths, take amazing photos, and see wide, open views. It’s a peaceful place where you can see hills and cliffs and learn a little about the area

Fairy Glen - Take a short 10-minute walk to find a magical place called Fairy Glen and Castle Ewen. It’s a very pretty place that looks like it’s from a fairy tale. Castle Ewen looks like old, broken-down castle walls, but it’s just natural rocks. The place has little round hills, twisty paths, and rings of stones that some people think are for calling fairies.

Day 2- Isle of Skye Sothern Island

Dunvegan Castle & Gardens - Dunvegan Castle is a very old castle in Scotland with a lot of history and things from the MacLeod family, like the Fairy Flag and a special cup. Visitors can look inside the castle and walk around its beautiful gardens, which have lots of roses and pretty ponds

Claigan Coral Beach - Claigan Coral Beach, is a Skye gem with unique sands and turquoise waters. With a convenient car park and a short walk, the beach unfolds as a serene paradise. Beware of farm animals on your way, and for a breathtaking view, visit during the afternoon sun.

Neist Point - Neist Point is one of the most famous landmarks on the Isle of Skye, renowned for its dramatic sea cliffs, iconic lighthouse, and panoramic views of the surrounding seascape. Located on the westernmost tip of the island, it offers visitors a rugged landscape where the land meets the sea, producing breathtaking sunsets and opportunities to spot various marine life.

Talisker Distillery - Talisker Distillery, Isle of Skye’s oldest working distillery, welcomes visitors to savour its famous single-malt Scotch in Carbost village. Even with limited time, enjoy a “wee dram” of this liquid treasure. Nearby, the Talisker Waterfall, especially majestic after rains, offers spectacular views from Talisker Beach, where strong winds can make the cascade seem to flow upwards.

Fairy Pools - The Fairy Pools of Skye, set amidst the Black Cuillin mountains, shimmer with legends of the Clan MacLeod and fairy tales. These spring-fed pools invite adventurers and nature lovers alike.

Sligachan Old Bridge - The Sligachan Old Bridge, characterized by its stone arches, is both a picturesque landmark and a vessel of Skye’s rich lore. Beyond its facade are tales of legendary warriors, Scathach and Cuchulainn, whose fierce battle was halted by faeries and a wise maiden.

Audio tour 2 days on Skye - A good way to see a lot of Skye's sights at your own pace. Audio was a bit clunky and not timed very well at points. It made it hard to know exactly where things were at times. It would tell you about something and the directions way before you got there etc. Still a good itinerary and would recommend doing, just make sure you have google maps of Skye downloaded too, and I would make a route of all the destinations on maps separately from the audio tour, it made an easier time of it the 2nd day for us. Also of note, there are some things only open certain times of the year, which might be helpful if the audio tour mentioned this, like Dunvegan Castle - we were unable to see this due to travelling in March, and tide times would be helpful to know to look up before setting off for the day. We were unable to see the dinosaur footprints at An Corran due to it being high tide, if we has known about this we could have planned a different order of things.
