Highlights

AIRPORT - KANDY

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Meet our Kingfisher Representative at Bandaranayake International Airport (CMB) or your Hotel and start the Tour. Head towards the Cultural Triangles of Sri Lanka and visit the Temple Of Sacred Tooth. Sri Dalada Maligawa, or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha.

Kandy Lake - Kandy Lake, also known as Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk, is an artificial lake in the heart of Kandy, Sri Lanka, built in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe next to the Temple of the Tooth. Over the years, it has been reduced in size. It is a protected lake, with fishing banned.

Royal Botanical Gardens - Visit the famous Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, established in the early 19th century. Walk through the vast area containing over 4000 species of plants. Learn more about the orchids, spices, and medicinal plants. Wander down avenues shaded by large and rare trees, or bordered by flowering plants. Enjoy seeing the cannonball tree, walking over the wobbly suspension bridge, through the short hedge mazes, or even climbing the twisty trees that make wonderful jungle gyms.

Kandy View Point - Climb the hill by Kandy Lake to reach Kandy View Point and get an unbeatable view of the city. As a popular tourist spot, the area attracts many peddlers, though they often sell sub-par items. The area also has a reputation for high pickpocket activity, so keep an eye on your belongings. From the hill, you can enjoy great views over the lake and the city as a whole.

Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - Experience the famous Cultural Dance Show at a stadium in Kandy, where you can enjoy a wonderful show featuring fire performances and various aspects of Sri Lankan culture. Calling it a traditional Kandyan dance performance is somewhat misleading, as the shows are very much aimed at audience entertainment and include dance routines and costumes from across the country, including the famous ‘devil’ dances of the west coast (which are very hard to see in their home region).

KANDY - DAMBULLA - SIGIRIYA

Dambulla Royal Cave Temple - Head towards Sigiriya via Dambulla. Enter the historic caves of the Golden Temple of Dambulla, dating back to the 1st century BC. View the ancient murals depicting the life story of Lord Gautama Buddha. Look at the hundreds of figurines of Buddha and other deities scattered throughout the five main caves. Visit the Cave of the Divine King, Cave of the Great King, and the Great New Monastery. See the giant golden Buddha Statue just a little distance outside the cave complex.

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Climb the 5th century AD rock fortress, Sigiriya, where King Kasyapa ruled. Walk through the entrance framed by the paws of a lion, which is quite appropriate for its name, ‘the Lion Rock’. View the beautiful unfading murals that brought Sigiriya its fame. Climb the steep staircase to see the terraced gardens and still-working cisterns. Walk through the tunnels leading to the palace as you get a feel for times long past.

Sigiriya Museum - The Sigiriya Museum, known to be one of the most beautiful museums in all of South Asia, is managed by the Central Cultural Fund. This museum represents the cultural, technological, and archaeological value of Sigiriya. The Sigiriya Museum allows its visitors to explore three decades of archaeological research on Sigiriya. The design of the Sigiriya museum was inspired by the complex design systems evident in Sigiriya itself. Most importantly, the clever use of water, which both enhances the beauty and quality of the environment as well as conserves it for the purpose of irrigation, is replicated here at the Sigiriya Museum.

Minneriya National Park - Prepare to “GET WILD”. This three-hour safari takes you on a ride through the Minneriya National Park. Enjoy the sight of over 150 elephants congregating in one place during the famous Great Elephant Gathering, which happens in the dry season between May to October. In addition to elephants, get a chance to see many mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians in the scrublands, forests, and other areas.

SIGIRIYA - NUWARA ELIYA

Ramboda Waterfall - Start your day in the morning and head towards Nuwara Eliya. Enjoy the scenic waterfall views and misty tea plantations. Visit the Ramboda Falls. Rivers, as they flow over uneven ground or down mountains, often split into tributaries or form waterfalls. Sometimes two tributaries of the same river may form twin waterfalls very close to each other as the water spills down cliffs and rocks. However, it is quite uncommon for the tributaries to combine after forming the waterfalls, making a Y shape. This unique and beautiful sight can be seen at the Pussellawa area of Nuwara Eliya, at the Ramboda Pass. The Ramboda Falls in Sri Lanka, also known as Ramboda Ella or Puna Ella, is created from Puna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya. It makes a twin with Dunsinane Falls, which is created by Pundalu Oya, also a tributary of Kothmale River, and combines at the base to form a Y shape.

Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple - It was Gurudev’s Sankalpa, when he visited Sri Lanka in 1980, to set up a spiritual centre at Rambodha. Chinmaya Mission Sri Lanka, with the blessings of Gurudev, purchased 10 acres of land in 1981 at Wevanden Hills. He named the land “Rambodha”. It is situated in the central part of Sri Lanka, 3,200 ft above sea level, at a distance of 150 km from Colombo (3 and a half hours). It was believed that Sri Hanumanji set his feet in these holy hills when he was in search of Sitaji. Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda consecrated the temple on 8th April 2001 by performing Maha Kumbhabhishekam. This grand temple is now a great monument where the 16 ft idol of Lord Hanuman is the Moola Murti. Vinayakar, Dhyaneshwar, and Sri Rama with Mother Sita and Lakshmana are the parivara murtis.

Pedro Tea Factory - Visit a tea factory and plantation where you can see how the world’s famous “Ceylon Tea” is manufactured. In 1824, a tea plant was brought to Ceylon by the British from China and was planted in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya for non-commercial purposes. James Taylor, a British citizen, introduced commercial tea plantation in Sri Lanka (Ceylon). He arrived in Sri Lanka in 1852 and settled down in Loolecondera estate in Kandy. Today, even people who have never heard of Sri Lanka are familiar with Ceylon tea, which is known for its quality. You will be shown how Ceylon Tea is made inside a factory with tasting various cups of tea.

Victoria Park of Nuwara Eliya - Victoria Park is a public park located in Nuwara Eliya, next to the Nuwara Eliya Post Office in Sri Lanka. Originally, the park was the research field of Hakgala Botanical Garden. The park was formally named in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.

Sita Temple - The Sita Amman Temple, dedicated to Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, is situated in the hills of Nuwara Eliya and is treated with enduring devotion by Hindus as it is considered to be the only such temple in the world. It is located five kilometres along the road from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy. History has it that this is the place where King Ravana held Sita imprisoned. What is interesting about the temple is the presence of footprints by the river, which are believed to be akin to Hanuman’s.

NUWARA ELIYA - ELLA - YALA

Little Adam’s Peak View Point - Proceed towards Ella and visit Little Adam’s Peak. Don’t miss this beautiful tourism site in Sri Lanka. Little Adam’s Peak is named after the sacred Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada – where the footprint of Lord Buddha is preserved) due to the similarity between the two mountains. Therefore, the mountain was called Little Adam’s Peak.

Nine Arches Bridge - Visit the Nine Arch Bridge. The Nine Arch Bridge is a bridge in Sri Lanka and is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country. The construction of the bridge is generally attributed to a local Ceylonese builder, P. K. Appuhami, in consultation with British engineers.

Ravana Ella Falls - The Ravana Falls is a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka. It currently ranks as one of the widest falls in the country.

Yala National Park - Head towards Yala and stay overnight at a tree house to make your vacation a memorable one. Spend the night under the stars with a BBQ dinner at Yala National Park for an adventurous night.

YALA - MIRISSA

Yala National Park - Early morning game drive to spot leopards, wild boars, and many wild animals.

Mirissa - Head towards Mirissa (the southern part) of Sri Lanka, which has wonderful beaches. Spend your day relaxing at the hotel after sightseeing the stilt fishermen experience on the way to your hotel. Stilt fishing is a method of fishing unique to the island country of Sri Lanka, known as “the Pearl of the Indian Ocean”. The fishermen sit on a crossbar called a ‘petta’ tied to a vertical pole and driven into the sand a few meters offshore. From this high position, the fishermen cast their line and wait until a fish comes along to be caught. Although the approach looks primitive and ancient.

MIRISSA - GALLE - BENTOTA

Mirissa Beach - Whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa is one of the most exciting water activities you can do during your holiday in Sri Lanka. Often spotted blue whales are the biggest animals in the world, and Mirissa is the best place to start your whale and dolphin watching tour in Sri Lanka. Get on a cruise in the morning and go in search of whales in the middle of the sea and have your breakfast on the cruise, enjoying the views and jumps of whales.

Galle Fort - The history of Galle extends thousands of years to biblical times. In more recent times, it was a prize to be possessed by western traders in search of wealth and glory. Its beautifully preserved colonial Dutch fort with its quaint city with cobblestone streets within is a place time forgot. Close by are magnificent beaches, rainforests, and other attractions. It is definitely a fascinating place to visit.

Galle Fort Lighthouse - Galle Lighthouse is an onshore lighthouse in Galle, Sri Lanka, and is operated and maintained by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.

Old Town of Galle and its Fortifications - Old Town of Galle, Sri Lanka. Galle was built as a fortified coastal city with large walls along the seashore. It was designed with a European way of thinking – that attacks from colonial competitors could come from the sea as well as the land.

BENTOTA - COLOMBO

Madu Ganga Biodiversity Area - Head towards Colombo (urban commercial area) via Madu Ganga. Madu River is a wetland near the small town of “Balapitiya” along the Colombo-Galle highway. This is the point where the estuary of the Madu River is located. The river flows through a terrain where it creates a large number of islands, and the ecosystem creates a beautiful wetland. The hotels around provide boat rides through the canals created at a good cost. And there are loads of places to stay, dine, and wine.

Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project - Turtles are reptiles of the order Chelonii. Therefore, they are also called chelonians by researchers and conservationists. Chelonians are characterized by the special bony shell or carapace, which is developed from their ribs and acts as a shield. They are an old group, with the very first proto-turtles having evolved over 220 million years ago in the Triassic Era. The order of Chelonii, also known as the Testudines, has three members in the group: turtles, tortoises, and terrapins.

Turtles: In North America, the word indicates all chelonians, including tortoises and terrapins. However, in the UK, the turtle indicates sea-dwelling species of chelonians. The word generally refers to chelonians with flippers that spend the major portion of their lives in water.

Bandaranaike International Airport - Proceed towards the airport and end your beautiful vacation with wonderful memories to cherish.

One of a kind experience for honeymoon in Sri Lanka - My experience with Kingfishwr was 10/10. From organization previous my arrival to Sri Lanka, where I change my itinerary like three times haha, but Aashik was very kind and comprehensive and change without problem and without charging extra. In Sri Lanka everything ok, with Aswar our driver the first 5 days and Nafeel the last two, nice drivers and friendly guys. Also, Aashik choose the perfect hotels for our stay in this honeymoon. Definitely I will recommend Kingfisher to family and friend visiting Sri Lanka, thank you Aashik and the whole team for making my honeymoon ONE OF A KIND!

BERWARE SCAMMER! - BEWARE SCAMMERS! We forgot €1,800 in the safe at the hotel. The boss took it and gave it out. He stole it! He spent it for his private purposes and has not paid it back to this day. A liar and cheater. Book better with others.
