• Hikkaduwa - The journey begins in Hikkaduwa, a premier tourist destination in Sri Lanka.
  A driver will pick you up from your hotel in the Hikkaduwa, Galle, Unawatuna, Talpe, Dodanduwa, or Rathgama area. The transfer vehicle is an air-conditioned car or minivan with luggage space, operating on a SHARING BASIS. Pick-up times are as follows: Morning Safari – 2:30 a.m. / 3:00 a.m.; Afternoon Safari - if you prefer to have lunch before the safari, select 11:00 a.m., otherwise 11:30 a.m.

After departure, you will be transferred to Tissamaharama in approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, with an opportunity to witness the sunrise during the latter part of the journey.

• Tissamaharama - Upon arrival in Tissamaharama around 5:30 a.m., you will switch from the transfer vehicle to the SHARED SAFARI VEHICLE. Ensuring safety and comfort, only the robust Toyota Hilux 4x4 vehicles are used for the safari, specially designed to handle the diverse off-road conditions of YALA National Park. Safari vehicles feature 6 individual seats, offering guests a 270-degree view.
  Luggage can be left in the taxi during the safari. There is a 30-minute break during the Afternoon Safari for lunch. Lunch can be requested for an additional charge of USD 10 per person, featuring a Sri Lankan meal with Rice, Chicken Curry, Dhal Curry, Beans Curry, Tempered Potato, Papadam, and Sri Lankan fruits. (Please send meal requests at least a day before the tour)
• Yala National Park - This marks the first game drive of the day, a highlight of the journey, lasting 2 hours.

The aim is to be in YALA National Park at dawn for the Morning Safari or at dusk for the Afternoon Safari. These “Golden Hours” provide the best opportunity to spot the elusive Sri Lankan leopards, a subspecies native to Sri Lanka. YALA National Park is home to approximately a hundred individual leopards, boasting the highest leopard density in the world.

• Patanangala - At the conclusion of the first game drive, a break is provided at Patanangala beach within YALA National Park, facing the Indian Ocean.

Breakfast can be enjoyed during this break. Although breakfast is not included in the tour, it can be requested for an additional charge of 8 USD per person. (Please send meal requests at least a day before the tour)

Options include a Sri Lankan breakfast with Plain Hoppers, Egg Hoppers, Rotti, Coconut Sambol, Sini Sambol, or a Western Picnic Breakfast with Cheese and Tomato Sandwich, Boiled Egg, Cake, Cookie, Jumbo Peanut, and Sri Lankan fruits.

• Yala National Park - Following the break, the second game drive of the day begins, lasting 1 hour.

Witness the majestic elephants, graceful spotted deer, and elusive sloth bears, among many other captivating species. The knowledgeable driver-guide will share insights into the behaviors and habitats of YALA’s diverse wildlife, enhancing the safari experience. Each moment promises an unforgettable encounter, as YALA offers a sanctuary where the extraordinary becomes the norm.

• Tissamaharama - After the second game drive, you will exit YALA National Park and travel back to Tissamaharama in the safari vehicle.
  You will then transfer from the safari vehicle to the air-conditioned transfer vehicle.
• Lahugala - 3 hours - Transfer from Tissamaharama to Arugam Bay
  The route to Arugam Bay runs near the border of Lahugala Kitulana National Park. While passing through the Lahugala area, there is often an opportunity to see elephants by the roadside.
• Arugam Bay - This marks the end of the journey.

As an authorized company to offer safari services in YALA National Park, all of our 4X4 vehicles have necessary approvals & all of our drivers have the special licenses to provide their service as safari drivers in the YALA National Park - issued by the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Sri Lanka.

• Please be informed that the entrance fees for the YALA National Park is not included in this package.
• You must pay the fees at the entrance in cash in Sri Lankan Rupees (Rs. 11,000/- , approx. $37 per person) or through a credit card. (There is no facility at present at the YALA National Park entrance to make cash payments in foreign currencies)
• The total duration of the Tour is around 10 hours and 30 minutes. This includes 3 hours and 30 minutes inside the YALA National Park, 3 hours to Pick up and reach to the YALA National Park entrance and 4 hours to Drop off after the safari.
• A minimum of 2 people is needed for a booking.
