My Daufuskie Island day! - The ferry ride and seeing the sites in a golf cart at my own pace. Loved the island and atmosphere. The island was rich in history!

Daufuskie trip - Great trip to and from the island.Boat captains were knowledgeable and helpful. Enjoyed the day on the island.

Just breath taking - Saw the white birds..eqrets heron im not sure what all but it was an incredible visual and sound bath !

Fun - We had so much fun exploring the island and learning about the rich history. It was easy to book and everyone was nice.

Daufuskie Island - What a magical, beautiful wonder this island was! It’s like stepping back in time! We had the best day exploring!

Amazing staff and terrific boat - Terrific staff and excellent boat. We had a wonderful day. The boat left on time and was very comfortable. They even had a small bar with a variety of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic

Good ride - Scenic fun little bit of water spray was refreshing for me That’s all I’ve got to say Have a nice day 5 stars Lalala

Worth the Price and the Time! - LOVED this trip! The boat was full, but not crowded, and the day was lovely. The boat left on time and picked us up on time, which is all he really needed to do. The driver was very nice and told us things about what we saw on the way to Daufuskie - he also answered questions. All things considered, the fare is reasonable. The trip is 45-50 minutes each way, and this is strictly a ferry service. There's no tour attached. We had the option of renting a golf card to get around the island when we arrived at the dock in Hilton Head, but I didn't do it. By the time I got to Daufuskie, I regretted it, because it's a big island & that's the only way to get around! Luckily, I was able to rent one at the General Store in the docking area, but I wouldn't count on that next time. By renting on the island, the price was maybe a little less, but not much, if any, and if they're busy, they might not have unrented extras. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. My only caveat - it wasn't easy pie to find the departure point - don't listen to your GPS completely. It'll get you to Simpson Rd, but read the instructions on your electronic ticket to take the first right off of Simpson into the parking lot. Then go all the way to the left, which is where the Wooden Dock is. Go - it's a neat island!

Ferry ride itself was fine, but not cheap, and not much to do on island - The ferry itself ran on time and was pretty well organized. One complaint: there were drinks on board, however, the staff never even mentioned that they were available for purchase or made any effort to offer them. When we asked, one of the mates actually discouraged us saying they were warm and stale. You would think that the ferry line AND the staff could both profit from offering beverages to customers, not to mention keeping customers happier. More broadly, I would say a couple of hours on the island is enough unless you want to sit on the beach. Between paying for the ferry and golf cart (that you definitely need to go around), more that 200 bucks for two people is too steep for what you get out of this trip.

So so - The ferry trip was very good with no unexpected events. Daufuskie Island was a bit of a disappointment, mostly a cart ride on sandy roads with very few interesting sights. Too many unaccessable areas due to private clubs, can't imagine anyone wanting to live there since there are not many facilities like groceries, health. There are better ways to spend $250 for ferry , golf cart and lunch.
