We had a wonderful... - We had a wonderful afternoon with Captain Pete. The boat ride over to Daufuskie Island was lovely. He pointed out a lot of interesting sites and told us all about the history of the area. We even saw a dolphins. I can’t imagine touring Daufuskie Island without a guide. He knew exactly where to take us and educated us all about the history of this island. It was fascinating to see the school house where Pat Conroy taught and change the lives of several of the children on the island. I highly recommend this trip! As the time does not appear to be listed on the website, it leaves at 12 o’clock from the kiosk at the marina. I would also recommend bringing jackets as it is much cooler on the water than it is on land. Make sure to wear sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses.

A great adventure on Daufuskie Island with Captain Pete - Captain Pete did an amazing job! He was so knowledgeable and had little personal details as well. We are so happy that we did the adventure! We suggest you watch the movie The Water is Wide first (on UTUBE) or read the book.

Good overview tour of the island history - We had been to Daufuskie 30 years ago and this tour was very different. The focus was more on history behind the island and the structures that were part of that. Our guide was very knowledgeable of that history. We enjoyed the tour but the ride over and back was a bit "blustery" as we were in an open-air boat. Glad we brought jackets and hats.

Captain Pete - This was a great half day experience for a group of 4 Captain Pete was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. It was a Nice boat ride (approx 1 hr) to the island and a perfect amount of time to tour. . You def need a golf cart to get around and the extra tour is worth it.
