Great Experience of Kenjutsu in Shinsengumi Hometown - I joint this amazing program. I experienced kenjutsu from the style of Shogun corps, Tennen Rishin Ryu. During training supervised by Master Inoue Genzaburo, the descendent of Shinsegumi. The program also guided with English by Yu Masubuchi San. It is really amazing experience at Shinsegumi hometown, Hino. Inoue Genzaburo Sensei and Yu Masubuchi San are very nice and very helpful. They guided me patiently. If you visit Japan, especially Tokyo or even Hino, I recommend this program for you.. it will be memorable experience for you. Let"s book the program and have a great experience.

Serious competition - Two of us participated in the experience. The experience was packed with content, starting with how to hold and hold the sword, how to swing the sword, practicing forms, and a test cut with a real sword. The teachers were very accommodating and we were successful in the test cut with a real sword. I recommend it because even if you have no experience, you can be taught carefully.

An extraordinary experience of Shinsengumi Tenshinrishin-ryu swordsmanship - Even though it was my first time touching a bamboo sword, I was kindly taught and enjoyed it. I was able to see a different view just by holding a bamboo sword, a real sword of course, and taking a stance. I'd like to visit again if I have the chance.

Try out a real sword - We both participated because we heard we would be able to try cutting with a real sword. The experience started with putting on the kendo uniform and hakama, and etiquette, and then we went on to learn how to hold and swing a wooden sword, three different forms, and how to swing a real sword. At the end we tried cutting straw with the real sword, which was a very tense and great experience. I have experience in kendo, but I learned that you need to be focused and your mind, technique, and body are all in order to cut cleanly with a real sword. I would recommend this to samurai and Shinsengumi fans, as well as those with experience in kendo. Thank you to Inoue Sensei and Masubuch Sensei for your guidance.

Shinsengumi experience ✖️ Sword test cutting 🟰 Samurai experience - Since reading Ryotaro Shiba's works, specifically "Moeyo Ken" and "Shinsengumi Keppuroku" several decades ago, I have become a fan of the Shinsengumi and have taken the opportunity to watch related films and visit historical sites. This time, I had the opportunity to learn the Tennen Rishin-ryu style of swordsmanship directly from a teacher connected to Inoue Genzaburo, who was the captain and assistant vice-captain of the Shinsengumi's 6th unit, and also to try out a sword test, as it was learned in Tama and Hino, the roots of the Shinsengumi, and also to try out a sword test with a real sword. I found it on TripAdvisor, booked it immediately, and went to try it out. As for the specific program content, we were taught basic etiquette and stance, and were taught how to swing the sword, practice swings, practice forms, and even a stand-up. The content was such that these training practices could be put to good use in the test sword test, and it was a very fulfilling two hours! By the way, I was surprised at the weight of the wooden swords (they weren't regular wooden swords, but wooden swords used in ancient martial arts!) and was even more surprised by the weight and style of the real swords. Also, trying out cutting with a real sword is probably a once in a lifetime experience, and I'm sure you'll be amazed by its sharpness, which exceeds your imagination. I highly recommend that any Shinsengumi or samurai fans try it out at least once!
