It nestles in the southern region of the country and serves as a harbor for a myriad of birds and mammals. Positioned about 160 km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City, it’s approximately a 3-hour drive away. While majorly seated in the northern perimeter of the Southeastern region, Ðông Nam Bô, the park also touches the southern boundary of the Western Highlands, Tây Nguyên. The Cat Loc area within the park is a vital sanctuary for the last remaining Javan rhinoceros on the Asian mainland. Other resident mammals are native golden-cheeked gibbon, elephant, gaur and tiger. Birdwatchers are in for a treat too, with unique species like Germain’s peacock pheasant, bar-bellied pitta and the rare indigenous orange-necked partridge being spotted here.
