Here, you’ll get a firsthand look at the age-old brick-making method that has been preserved for generations. Subsequently, we’ll explore a coconut farm, providing insights into local living and an up-close view of the coconut manufacturing process. Discover how various coconut-based products come to life and engage in the art of crafting sleeping mats alongside the locals. Following that, enjoy a tranquil rowboat journey through the region’s intricate coconut channels, embraced by verdant landscapes. Then, a bicycle ride meandering through scenic villages offers a prime opportunity to immerse oneself in the local culture and mingle with the warm-hearted inhabitants. Our adventure culminates with a hearty meal at a local residence, indulging in authentic Vietnamese cuisine crafted from fresh, indigenous ingredients.

Mekong River Adventure - A lovely private day trip for a couple wanting a more relaxing experience. We were picked up by our guide Jen right at our hotel in Zone 3. The ride was comfortable with good leg room. We stopped along the way at a rest stop which had clean washroom facilities. We toured a brick factory and Jen explained the process of making bricks and the materials used. Then we walked a short way to where they process coconut for different purposes. We walked another short distance (the walks are very easy)to board a boat (large boat with a canopy that can hold maybe a dozen people)and traveled up the wider part of the Mekong River to a family’s business of making coconut candy. Next we boarded the same kind of boat and went up river some more to a landing and we walked a short distance to a place where they weave grass mats. From there we rode a tuk tuk ( which is a canopied trailer attached to a motorcycle) we went down a narrow windy road which was densely forested to where we boarded a long tail boat ( a narrow wooden boat driven by a motor with a very long shaft) We went down river to a restaurant in the jungle where we were served a wonderful traditional Vietnamese meal of deep fried banana flower, soup and a fried elephant ear fish. From there we had an enjoyable ride back to Saigon. Total time about 9.5 hours. Was a great day, highly recommend.

Mekong delta tour with Jen - We had a fantastic experience with Jen and our driver. Jen was very knowledgeable about local customs and history. She was able to communicate with us clearly and answered our questions enthusiastically sometimes using local stories. She showed us a cocoa pod and how it ends up as a dry cocoa beans. We had an excellent time exploring the Mekong River and two of the islands. If we could, we would give her 6 stars.

A must do exploration of a mighty, magisterial river and its people. So much learning to be had. - We really did have a most memorable day in Matt’s company. Matt was clearly extremely knowledgeable and passionate about everything to do with the Mekong Delta. We travelled on 4 different modes of transport: a luxurious, chilled, journey down; a motor boat down this mighty river; a tuk-tuk through a village; a rowing boat through river canals. Visiting the various sights offered us a most informative insight into the river itself and how the local people use its resources and associated flora and fauna in a sensible, no-waste way. Us ‘Westeners’ have much to learn from these delightful, resourceful people. Matt was the perfect guide, great communication skills, gracious, and great company. Oh, and I hope you, too, have the sort of lunch we did! Amazing! Highlight, freshly caught and roasted elephant fish. What a day!!

Best Vietnam Tour Guide - I dropped my phone getting out of the boat like a mindless individual. Our tour guide and the locals found it in the Mekong and helped me dry it out. His level of communication is excellent. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for knowledge, respect and a total Vietnam experience. You're in great hands with Kevin

A fun-filled day on the islands in the Mekong Delta - Really lovely tour guide named Bunny, who provided a lot of really interested information about the Mekong Delta area, and Vietnam as a whole. Very personable. The tour itself included visits to a pagoda, a coconut candy manufacturing house, seasonal tropical fruit with live traditional folk music, a short small boat excursion down a canal, and a very generously sized lunch. Recommend to all!
